Headed out for a day on the water this morning....started out as usual pretty good then fish got lockjaw......but in any case, a great day on the water ...Cold front ,late last night killed it....but made the best of it....Today was cold and long...and I have windburn on my face to boot!!!.......Thankful the sandwich I made for us saved the day...It was delicious!!!!....Here's a few

Fresh Roasted Bistro Turkey, Domestic Swiss Cheese, Romaine Lettuce, Sliced Plum Tomatoes, Sliced Red Onions, Salt, Montreal Pepper Seasoning, Oregano and smeared with Hellman's Mayo....only the best!!

Amazing that there are pike in that river.

 

Yeah the river has cleaned up quite a bit......There are MONSTERS in there over 40"....I've seen them cruising.....and the Smallmouth fishery the Passaic offers is way better than when I  grew up nearby.....On the days I don't go to the reservoirs for bass and walleye, I hit the river which is like 10 min. from where I live...Thanks for your comment....Have a nice weekend!!!

My dad is from Passaic and we used to go visit his parents frequently. It was really dirty the last time we were there which is why it was hard to imagine anything worth catching being in there. He always talked about catching stripers in the river but never mentioned smallies or pike.  Cool fishery to have right near your home!!!!
