passthru Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Hi guys, I'm new here. I live in South Louisiana. I've been bass fishing since I was about 9 or 10, I'm 44 now. I started in farm ponds and just fell in love. I've since gotten into tournaments. Local team tournaments. I've never ventured too far from home with fishing. Whitetails, now thats a different story. I did the bass clubs for a few years, then jumped in to a couple local circuits. I acquired ALOT of old tackle a while back and I'm trying to find if it's worth anything? Any help is appreciated in advance. Thanks, Tommy Milioto Quote

Super User Long Mike Posted September 18, 2013 Super User Posted September 18, 2013 Welcome passthru. What part of Louisiana do you live in? I grew up in Abbeville. I hope your Screen Name doesn't mean that you are simply passing through; trying to get rid of some lures. There's a bunch of nice folks around here. We are sort of a close-knit community and would very much like to have you join us, and participate in our forums. I hope you have not joined us simply to sell your lures. Quote
passthru Posted September 18, 2013 Author Posted September 18, 2013 Long mike, nope, passthru is my bowhunting reference. I'm in LaPlace. Between New Orleans and Baton Rouge on I-10. Looking for some good ole boys to shoot the bull with and share stories and teqniques also. Quote

passthru Posted September 18, 2013 Author Posted September 18, 2013 The old lures questions came up because I been doing some cleaning since I got laid off last month and just mostly bored. I was looking for a place to discuss them. I have so many I don't know where to start. Quote

passthru Posted September 18, 2013 Author Posted September 18, 2013 Hurricanes have hurt us in the recent past, lots of flooding, but has REALLY taken a toll on our bass. Lots of places are impossible to either navigate or even get into. We've even had a few bad fish kills, but we need a calm hurricane season to give the fish a chance to recover Quote
Super User Sam Posted September 18, 2013 Super User Posted September 18, 2013 LaPlace!!!! That is the home of my Cajun side of the family, the Roche's. Used to go through Laplace on old Highway 90 when I went to LSU. I am from New Orleans. Great having you with us. Louisiana fishing, both fresh and salt, is sensational. Even my wife, who grew up on a Pennsylvania dairy farm loves to fish for the big reds in the Biloxi. As for your baits, I have no idea. Hopefully you are an LSU Fighting Tigers fan. Otherwise you will not only strike out when fishing but those big bucks will laugh at you when you go hunting. Enjoy some jambalaya for me! Quote
passthru Posted September 18, 2013 Author Posted September 18, 2013 Hi Sam, I went to LSU for two years, '87-'89 before i decided to go in to buisness for myself. I bleed purple and gold. Geaux Tigers!!!!!! 1 Quote
