I like the Ultravibe speed craws also.  They work very well when I am pulling across the tops of weeds.

After reading some of the responses, I guess mine needs a little more tweaking.....

For subtle presentations where less is more - the Powerteam Lures 3.5" Craw D'oeuvre

For in your face pure bulk - the Powerteam Lures 4.5" Conviction Craw

For a hint of action and flare - the Powerteam Lures 3.5" or 4.5" Texas Rig Jig

For pure action and flare - the Powerteam Lures 4" Diesel Craw

And lastly, for punching - the Powerteam Lures 4.5" Bully Grass Devil

And before you jump on my case for looking like a PTL homer, I am on their Pro Staff; however, I was using their products for almost a full year and switched out all of my soft plastics for their products before ever being offered the opportunity to represent them as one of four kayak Pro Staffers across the entire US.

I had the full arsenal of craws from Yum, GYCB, NetBait (my presonal fave prior to PTL), Berkley, Zoom, etc.  I tried them all and had the plastics bags to prove it until I gave them all away to various Heroes On the Water chapters and sold a few of the unopened packs.  When I believe in a product, I go all in with no holds barred.

Also, when you have success with a given product, you run with it regardless of brand.  That is the beauty of the soft plastics industry and competition - plenty of choices for everyone to try and find a brand that they have confidence in!

3.5" Craw D'oeurve.

Why? It floats. Everyone is saying rage craws, which sink. Sinking baits are not what you want on a shaky head. Shaky heads are supposed to stand up. That's the whole point. I'm not saying anything againt rage craws, I love them as jig trailers but in this situation there are better baits.

Think of the way a craw actually moves across the bottom. Do they shimmy on their tail in a constant defensive position? No.

....and that is why there is no one craw to solve this dilemma and the OP's question.  The answer is a variety depending upon the situation, body of water being fished and the time of the year.

There's one bait, and I mean one, that I have been ultimately disappointed in in the past five years and that's the culprit incredi-craw. The bait has ZERO motion other than the tentacles. Completely dead in the water.

The craws I use on a shakey range from baby rage craw to lobsters and paca craws as well as the missile Fuse.

Another one for the Rage products.  The new DB Craw is rockin' right now for me.  :)

After struggling early, I had a very good day on the IncrediCraw this summer when I got on a nice pitching pattern. So sometimes less action is the key I guess. Unless I had the color/weight just right. Who knows, its fun trying to figure it all out though.

Honestly every craw or chunk I've tried by ragetail, paca, berkley, and zoom have all worked fine. I even pour my own for fun... Profile and color matter more to me.

I realise it may be more of what you'd call a spider grub, but the yammomoto hula grub outfishes every craw I've used on a texas rig.

I've really liked the rage craws, they're a little fragile in my opinion but they certainly catch fish. My personal favorite is the Yum Crawbug. I've had great results with them everywhere I've went.

Ask a simple question......

This is what makes the Forum so much fun.

Hope you can decide among all of the suggestions.

I will not confuse the issue as my suggestions have already been suggested.

Good luck. Let us know which ones you selected and how you did on the rig.

During this years spawn, it was the Yum Money craw in white.  Then moved to Rage Tails.  I put Rage Tails on all my jigs, and even a few chatterbaits

Everything mentioned will catch fish but I think we have different definitions on this forum. My questions is for the people saying that a chigger craw is subtle? It moves as much water as any similar bait. For me the baits I use go from a Yamamoto 3" craw (absolute finesse) to some custom creature bait with like 8 flapping appendages. I need to try some rage products  but I have 100's of other baits to go through first that catch plenty of fish.but I do intend to try them.

I've used chigger craw, zoom chunks, zoom speed craw, rage craw, sweet beavers, fatty craws, incredi-craw

For flipping and pitching any of those will do. They all work well, tho I may stick with the fatty craw or the beavers from now on because they are more durable then the others

But the rage craw, speed craw, and the incredi-craw are more versatile due to there better action
