Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted September 18, 2013 Super User Posted September 18, 2013 I like the giants and the Mets...but I rarely watch the mets BC i don't get them on TV... but I'll watch any baseball game that's on to try and improve my game Quote
Super User South FLA Posted September 19, 2013 Super User Posted September 19, 2013 I am loyal to the teams I grew up with, Dolphins, Heat, FSU, and Braves. The Marlins are O.K., but when the Braves had spring training down here in West Palm and I would go to the games, Dale Murphy was 'the man" back then! Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 10, 2015 Global Moderator Posted August 10, 2015 It's been rough being a sports fan my whole life. Born one year after the Royals won the world series, rooting for the Chiefs in NFL and KSU in college ball. In almost 30 years on this earth, zero championships. The Royals came oh so close last year but just couldn't quite do it, but it sure is fun cheering for a team that's winning finally! I've watched the Chiefs lose so many playoff games that I pretty much expect it when they actually make it to the playoffs. Still, there I am every year routing for them and nobody else. Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted August 10, 2015 Super User Posted August 10, 2015 If you are a true fan, you never ever ever switch sports teams. Period. Quote
cbass12 Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Royals and Chiefs all the way!!! Also a die hard KU fan having grown up 20 minutes from Lawrence. No way could I ever buy a jersey or shirt of another team, would just feel wrong. Quote
stkbassn Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I dunno if you are or not. Me personally. I follow the Raiders and the Falcons. I will always cheer for the Raiders over the Falcons though. Just as I would NEVER cheer for the Ponies, the Chiefs, or the Chargers. College football. Its Auburn or whoever is playing Bama or LSU. Soccer. Its Chelsea Football Club, and only Chelsea Football Club. Man U, Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal, and Man City are a bunch of nancy boys. I will forgo watching my beloved Raiders play to watch Chelsea play. I've been a Chelsea fan for many years myself. I wasn't thrilled with the performance over the weekend. I was quite disgusted in fact. They could have easily dropped points and I feel they were lucky to walk away with one. I miss the days when Drogba was in form. That was a fun Chelsea team to watch in my opinion. Even last season didn't find me enjoying their football most of the time though they ended up champions in the end. I hope they can produce a bit more flash and style this season. We shall see. Quote
Last_Cast Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 So all these threads got me to wondering. I see plenty of posts where people say they switched to liking this team x years ago or they have so and so's jersey that they would wear if their team wasn't playing etc... Maybe i am in the minority here but i would never switch teams and no way would i ever buy another teams jersey or even a t-shirt. Hell, if i see a car trying to pass me with a cowboys sticker on it on the highway i don't even let them over. The only times i have a rooting interest in another team are when it is a rival team and i want to see them lose, if i have money on the game or if the outcome of said game can help my team. Now once my team is out, I have teams i like but it's not like i would buy a jersey or watch them over my team. So my question is, am in the minority here? NYY,NYJ,NYR all day long. Never will give up for any other team....no matter how bad. it's called loyalty...not many people practice that. Quote
Jd_Phillips_Fishin Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 NYY,NYJ,NYR all day long. Never will give up for any other team....no matter how bad. it's called loyalty...not many people practice that. I wish more of my friends were like that... there favorite CFB teams are Alabama or Oregon. When I say,"What if they only win 2 games next year?" I get, "Then I guess I'll find a new team." Band wagon fans. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted August 11, 2015 Super User Posted August 11, 2015 I was born a Buffalo Bills fan, and will die one....through the few good years, and mostly all bad years, I detached from them a little bit in the later years of Ralph Wilson's life semi-preparing myself for a sale and move, but when the Pegulias bought the team I wept like a child, and am a die-hard again. I am a casual Buffalo Sabres fan, but I lose interest real quick when they stink. I lived in the Tampa area in the mid 90's and have a little soft spot for the Bucs, and I have always pulled for the Packers, Giants(even after SB25), Colts, and Steelers (except for when they play the Bills ). I hate the Browns due to some very idiotic fans that treated me and my buddy (we were 14 years old, and grown men were picking fights with us) poorly at the 1989 AFC playoff game we traveled to Cleveland for. I also hated the Houston Oilers, that pre-dated their move to Tenn., and the Music city miracle, and that hate carries over to the Titans, I will also go to the grave wishing the worst for the Patriots, Jets, and Dolphins. When the Giants beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl to give them the 19-1 record (and the 2nd one too), it was almost as if the Bills had won it, I have never reacted so strongly for a another team winning the SB in my life. Even though the Cowboys, and Redskins beat the Bills in the Super Bowl, I have no hate, I am just indifferent to them. I have no interest in collage sports of any kind, NBA basketball, or MLB. Quote

Super User Jrob78 Posted August 12, 2015 Super User Posted August 12, 2015 I follow all the Dallas pro teams. That is one cool thing about living in the same city your whole life. You go through all the ups and downs of your teams with everyone else in the city. There are a few other teams I like and will pull for as long as it doesn't effect a home team. I watch a little college football but have no allegiances. Quote
Hurricane Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Bills.. Born and raised in Buffalo and started following them at the age of 10.. 26 years later, still and will be forever a Bills fan... After 15 plus years of no playoffs, I am hoping this is finally the year.. Quote
dave Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 While I route for the home teams, the owners don't send Dave a check when they win, and Dave doesn't get all upset when they lose... 1 Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted August 17, 2015 BassResource.com Administrator Posted August 17, 2015 Seahawks fans have long proven loyal to their team. Looking at hometown crowds, TV audiences, stadium attendance and social media, Forbes named Seattle football fans as among the most loyal in the country. During the team's eight home games last season, CenturyLink Field had an average attendance of 68,412, despite a capacity of 67,000. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted August 17, 2015 Author Super User Posted August 17, 2015 It's easy to have support of a team when winning, the true test is when they aren't. There are about 5 teams that consistently are at over capacity each season. I find it interesting that Dallas has 10% of it's stadium empty and even then, it is quite common for the stadium to be taken over by the visiting team's fans. http://http://espn.go.com/nfl/attendance/_/year/2014/sort/homePct 1 Quote
