D4u2s0t Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 the way my tackle box is set up, if I don't catch fish on a bait, it doesn't go in the box. Everything in my box I have caught tons of fish on. I don't try to force any baits that don't work for me, especially when I have baits that I know i'll catch fish on. Quote
Big Al Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 shaky head with a finesse worm. it looks like it would be sooo delicious for bass but i haven't caught a thing on one. Quote
bigtimfish Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 I can't catch fish on a spinnerbait this year. Quote
TruiteBR Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 jerkbaits... I just cant catch a bass with them. Quote
AlphaMaxinIt Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 On Toledo Bend, it is a white chatterbait.. I catch so much on that thing back in GA... Quote
tnbassfisher Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Here lately it has been everything in my tackle boxes I know what you mean. This has just been a terrible year for me. x3 Quote
aut0 Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Here lately it has been everything in my tackle boxes I know what you mean. This has just been a terrible year for me. x3 Count it 4! Lol. But my fav to throw when I'm hitting nothing are a couple of huge, ugly spinners I have. They're black/white and definitely scary. If I were a fish and it was headed for me, I'd run like hell (which is what happens) but I love watching them in the water. Quote
hatrix Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 I got a super shard rap in bluegill thats really letting me down. Im sure when the water really warms up it will start to produce. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted April 16, 2010 Super User Posted April 16, 2010 Haven't had a strike on the Spro BBZ-1. Quote
Super User RoLo Posted April 16, 2010 Super User Posted April 16, 2010 Haven't had a strike on the Spro BBZ-1. You too? They sure appeal to anglers though ;) Roger Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted April 16, 2010 Super User Posted April 16, 2010 Haven't had a strike on the Spro BBZ-1. You too? They sure appeal to anglers though ;) Roger x3 Excellent looking bait in and out of the water. I can catch them on a sexy swimmer though. : Quote
BassThumb Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Side by side, double bladed buzzbaits. Maybe the waters are too clear around here for such a noisy buzzer. Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted April 17, 2010 Super User Posted April 17, 2010 What's funny is..nada on the dirty shad, but have got 2 on the regular shad.. Haven't had a strike on the Spro BBZ-1. Quote
Bass_Akwards Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Trying to figure out how a lure that does not produce could be a favorite. You shouldn't have any kind of favorite. Lures are nothing but a tool. Just as a screw driver is set for a specific job, a lure is set to do a specific job. You'll catch more fish if you quit playing favorites. Amen Brother. Quote
DINK WHISPERER Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Can't believe you guys have had no luck on the Spro BBZ shad! I absolutely "kill" em on the floater! Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted April 18, 2010 Super User Posted April 18, 2010 Despite my lack of success I still would like to get one of them in a floater. I got the slow sink only which isn't my cup of tea in the first place. Quote
bassman31783 Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Deep diving crankbaits. Honestly it's a technique issue rather then the lure. I see people deep cranking & catching a ton of fish so I throw on my DD22 & start chunking but come up with nothing. I'm getting better & had decent success during the pre spawn this year but I still look at my deep divers & think to myself "why don't you catch more fish". In due time, in due time. Quote

BassShephard Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 I have a few that look like they would catch a ton of bass but not the case. I have some that didn't produce fish before, now I found out that they only work in certain conditions in my area. Most of my bait tends to be something simple or something I homemade and rigged up, which will catch more fish for me . Here is my rather large list of no luck baits, granted some of these I've recently adopted and its been a slow year for fishing. Deep divers: I have no luck with these (more apparently no skill I suppose). Large Spinners I' catch a few fish on small spinners but not large ones. Buzzbait:With buzz baits I've never had susses expect once, a spawning bass wouldn't take my bait so I kept rammming it in the side till it got ticked off . Large Jigs: Catch many fish on small jigs but not big ones. Swimbaits: No luck with these, really they look like a bass would love them. I hope the BBZ-1 changes that. Flukes: I've used these 2 years with little success after many poeple told me they are the best for bass, however a few weeks ago it produced a 1 Ib and 2 Ib Fish were nothing else would so we will see how it goes in the future. Super User BASSclary Posted August 18, 2010 Super User Posted August 18, 2010 GYCB Senko, or any of his products to be exact Quote
bigtimfish Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Huddlestons and deep diving cranks. If it's a crank that dives deeper than 12' I will not catch anything. I can catch them on Bandit 300's and baits like that, just not the big deep divers. It's weird and a little frustrating. Quote
Ballpark Frank Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Anything with the word "jig" in it. I like using jigs, but I swear me and jigs just don't mix. I've caught one fish on a jig. One of these days I need to try a different lake and toss a jig around and see what happens. That's me to a T. My jig collection is just that.... a collection. My other no catch(actually few catch) bait is the Booyah Boogee. When I first got them, I think I dreamed that they caught fish. I have not caught anything on them in over a year. Quote
BassShephard Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Had to take back what I said about Large Jigs, I've had fair success with Large Tube Jigs (lot of success on small tube jigs). Quote
