BuckMaxx Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Rapala pliers and WD 40 I can buy a lot of them for 100! Quote
Super User OkobojiEagle Posted September 17, 2013 Super User Posted September 17, 2013 The fly shop at the Bass Pro in Auburn sells these hemo - scissors with an orange coated handle. Probably the best tool I've found for removing hooks and cutting line, including braid. You can sort of see them in this picture: William Joseph Hemocuts... oe 1 Quote

Scorcher214 Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 X2 on the gander mountain GSX pliers, best pair I'veever owned. Quote
Super User Chris at Tech Posted September 17, 2013 Author Super User Posted September 17, 2013 Are the Gander pliers well-constructed? They look to be similar in concept to the Browning/BPS pliers I have, but the problem I see with the Browning is that they're not manufactured very well, as the tolerances appear rather poor. The jaws and the cutters get to a point where they're no longer pinching totally closed, so obviously this makes cutting lines an issue. Quote
aquaholic Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 this is what i use to cut braid. http://www.rockynational.com/product/Gerber/Knives/22-41830/EAB-Pocket-Knife?gclid=CM60ovyj07kCFfBcMgodLEUAfg when it goes dull i put another razor in. Quote
Super User DogBone_384 Posted September 22, 2013 Super User Posted September 22, 2013 http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?P65=&tool=all&item_ID=636971&group_ID=675118&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog Give these a spin. No cutting abilities, but nail-clippers will do that for you. I've been buying Snap-On for about 25 years and often wonder why because some of their tools are excessively expensive, but after seeing $300+ for those Van Staals, I don't feel so bad. Add: I make money with my Snap-On tools too. Quote
