Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted September 15, 2013 Super User Posted September 15, 2013 The heck is wrong with the NCAA. Nix bumped a receiver trying to catch a ball and got flagged and tried to throw him out of the game to boot. He bumped into for crying out loud! There was nothing vicious about that! I am so d**n sick of this. This is beyond ridiculous. I want the 70's style of play brought back. If I wanted ro watch two hand touch I would go to the retirement home and watch them play! 1 Quote
fadetoblack21 Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 I agree with the rule, not with the call. Safety for the players is never a bad thing, and you still get to see plenty of vicious hits in college football. Also, if they can overturn the ejection, which basically says the call was bad, why still assess the 15 yard penalty? Still, the game turned out to be one hell of a game! Quote

aquaholic Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 That was a terrible call. The worst part of it was that the booth reviewed it and said it was a clean hit but they couldnt take away that penalty yards. We have the nfl to blame for this thanks to everyone trying to jump on the bus to sue them. These kids arent going to go full bore into someone if there is a chance they may get tossed. Quote
Super User Root beer Posted September 15, 2013 Super User Posted September 15, 2013 Haha Clinton Dix had a collision with AM WR. He was ejected but booth overturned it. He had his hands up and turned his head looking for ball. And ref flagged him for targeting... Lol screw NCAA and college football. 2 Quote
Super User Chris at Tech Posted September 15, 2013 Super User Posted September 15, 2013 So lemme get this straight...the players want to complain that football is not being forthcoming on things like concussions, but now those same players complain when calls designed to protect the players are made? I don't think they can have it both ways. I didnt see the Bama play, but Matthews wasn't even close in the above clip. 1 Quote

Super User AK-Jax86 Posted September 16, 2013 Super User Posted September 16, 2013 Anyone who has played football in HS or in colege know that what we have now is far from football. You need to protect the players from other players and themselves but at the end of the day us as fans, and some who have played, don't want to see flags attached to players pants because that's the route we are going I played defense and can not even imagine playing on the college level or NFL nowadays with all these rules on how you can hit a guy. You hit then high flag you hit them low flag you don't hit them at all they score what you suppose to do 1 Quote

Heaven forbid you ear hole a ball carrier in today's game. The league would crucify you for that now. Quote

Super User slonezp Posted September 16, 2013 Super User Posted September 16, 2013 Man, he was 4 yards out of bounds before he hit him, he shoulda been fined 30k. His feet left the playing field as soon as Colin stepped out. There was no reversing that. Quote
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted September 17, 2013 Super User Posted September 17, 2013 Football is too quick and too many bang bang plays. Like Ray Lewis said Monday night it can not be left up to refs and the human eye because everything is judgment based. Lets take that clay hit on Colin. Clay came out before game and said that you need to hit Colin make him feel you. So Clay takes a late shot out of bounds. One can see it as Clay doing exactly what he said he was going to do, which would be an intentional premeditated hit, or Clay left his feet already so he couldn't stop himself. But to have refs inforce penalties off of sheer judgement calls on hits is starting to affect a lot of football games. Ray said someone uostairs should break down tape a rewind to gauge a players intent on suspect hits. Only problem with that is it wouldn't work and would slow down the game. If we want to play football LET THEM PLAY! If not take off all the protectiive gear throw on your cleets, jersey, and some shorts and put flags around their waists Quote
