Went happily to a little local pond with clear water to practice with a Sammy and other topwaters. There are lots of bass all over the place. Threw a skitterpop at the end of the day and bam! I thought I had a big 'un! Well, I did, kinda.....pulled it up and there were two bass on the pop! I was so astonished I held them up by the lure. After I released the first one, you guessed it....the other flopped and drove the treble deep into my finger. I'll only put the pic of the two fish on here, not the one of my finger. At the ER they numbed it and dug it out. And I'm getting it with the Sammy! All in all a good day.

Doubles are awesome. Weren't you asking for advice on fishing the Sammy? Looks like you have it figured out to me. Nice job! Hope your hand heals quickly.

OUCH!!  Man that bites.  Love doubles...but a hook in the finger...yikes!

That's the #1 reason why I always use pliers with treble hooks.

Nice!  I have still yet to catch a double!  Sorry you got the finger, but it probably won't be the last time!  Keep at em!

Sounds like a triple for the sammy. I always use a boga and pliers with trebles. Nice to see you figured out the sammy.

Thanks for not posting the pics of the hook in your finger. I've seen a lot of things and not much bothers me anymore, but the hook in finger shot still makes me squirm.

Ouch.....to this day when using rattle trap style baits I get funny sensations when I hear that rattletrap noise when a bass shakes his head by the boat. Afraid ... yes ... very afraid. Had a couple experiences like yours with lures and hands.
