Sounds like your really excelling on this lake. I’m new to the forum but have been fishing the lake for years. We’re headed up next week/weekend Sunday through Tuesday to get ready for the rat-l-trap tournament if anyone wants to get together. I’ll also be up there the 18-20 for the tourney.

Better get you some 3/4 and 1 oz traps. The grass is DEEP with the lake being 9’ high

It’ll be interesting to see who figures it out for the FLW tour this week. I’ve been on a very specific pattern, but man it’s turning up big numbers and size.  I feel if anyone else gets on it, 25lbs a day is doable.

Well, it was very interesting to say the least. Fishing this lake 10” above pool is very interesting. A lot of fish are being caught on the inside/shallow edge of the grass. We did not find that bite however. Almost all of our fish (15 or so) were caught out on main lake points or on points leading into a creek. Drop shots and Carolina rigs are what we caught em on but also caught a few in the 10-16 fow range on a swing jig.

Any new reports with the water being so high?

The Corp of Engineer site shows all but one ramp closed. Anyone know of a place to launch?

I've got a tournament out of Rayburn Saturday launching out of Cassell. First time on lake. Somewhat flying blind. Probably gonna stay in and around the cove

I'm taking a short family vacation to Rayburn in a couple weeks and plan on doing a little fishing with my dad, sister, and brother in law.  I know the lake is still super high. Any pointers would be much appreciated!!

Look for bare spots between the bushes and grass. Hardspots seem to be holding good fish

Are most of the ramps still closed due to the high water? I can't seem to find a current list online.

Yes, Cassels Boykin and Public are both open though.

How's it going y'all? Hope y'all can possibly help me with a few questions. I'm staying on Toledo Bend next week.....and was thinking of going over to Rayburn to give it a shot for a day.....maybe 2. Never been on the lake before. From where I'm staying it looks like the closest place I could fish Rayburn would be putting in at Townsend park. Looks like alot of timber and little cuts around there.......that is looking by satellite view. Is this a decent area? Don't wanna waste my time if there is a better area close by. Not looking for yall's secrets.......just wanna have a chance at some decent success to catch a few. Any help GREATLY appreciated!!!!!!

I would suggest putting in at Mill Creek Park. You won’t have to go far to find fish. There is hydrilla, bushes, cypress trees, etc all close by

My camper is on Six Mile at Toledo. Now that the landings are open again, you have many choices. I usually go to Five Fingers, San Augustine, Mill Creek, Caney, and the one on the side of the road in Ayish. Plenty more options. I'm pretty sure they're all good.

Rayburn has been tough for me lately but my last trip out there landed me a tagged bass from 2018.  I didnt even realize that you could get something from last years tags and ended up with $500 cash, a pair of Costas and a new Falcon fishing rod.  Not too shabby for a $100 entry fee to fish on two lakes!

Late report, fished Rayburn Sunday after fishing Toledo Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Rayburn was good to us. Took some buddies that have never been to this lake before and they were pleased by the end of the day. 2 boats, 40 fish total. We launched out of sandy creek. And within 5 min started wearing them out. I got a 6.6 lber and 5.5 30 min apart from the same area. My buddy got an 8lber at the end of the day.

New Here, Been fishing Rayburn for the last few years but could use any help and advise from any of the more seasoned Fisherman. I want to get in to some of the local Tournaments being it is only 30 mins from the house. I did register for the Big Bass Splash, but I've haven't caught anything over 6lbs yet.

The bass fishing is good, but the white perch fishing has been off the charts. I’m doing some white perch trips if anyone is interested. 12-20’ with brush seems to be the key.

A co-worker showed me a pic of a very nice limit caught out of San Augustine Park last weekend. Said he caught about 30 fishing grassy banks. Haven't heard about any deep.
