krb017 Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Fished this past weekend on Saturday from 8-1, and it was slammed with boats. We did ok and put 8 in the boat but lacked size. Biggest was 3lbs. I didn't see much action from other anglers and all the guys I spoke with only caught a few as well. Caught them cranking points, carolina riggin, and flippin. Quote
fishcaller Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Gonna try make it over there this weekend if it don't rain. And I sure hope it don't . I like hearing all these good reports which end doing better north or south? Quote

back water Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 We, the Cleveland bass club has a week-end tournament this week-end. Fri. an 80% chance of rain, 100% on Sat., and 80% again on Sun. Temp. 65 on Sat. and 69 on Sun. The wind doesn't look too bad though, Sat. out of the E-NE at 5. and out of the N at 6 on Sun. The lake is at 166.46 or 2.06 off of full pool. Be safe - bring your rain gear - and keep a tight line. Quote
roblo Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 I made it to the camp Friday night. Had a lot going on, didn't get on the water till 8:30 sat morning, have never seen so many boats in the area I was at before, around 147 and Harvey. Fished two hours an went back to camp to finish up on water well. Didn't catch any fish, was fishing shallow, I'm thinking the water temp was around 53. Couldn't fish my spots because all the boats. Went back sat evening about 5:30, wind was kinda rough. Fished shallow again with no luck. I'll be back not this weekend but the next, water temp should be warmer. Maybe I can snag a few?!? Good luck everybody Stay safe Quote

Bass_Fanatic Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Fish are on beds! Buddy of mine caught a 10lb 13oz off a bed Friday. Quote
roblo Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 That's some nice fish, still hunting my DD! They already moved to the beds on Rayburn? I'm sure gonna try my luck this coming weekend What's a good bait an color to use? Plastics, senkos, spinnerbaits an jigs? Thanks for any advice Y'all have a good day an good luck! Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 I'm a big fan of the big bite baits war mouth for bed fishing along with a dropshot. Alternate between the two and you can get most fish that are locked on the eat one or the other. Quote
back water Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Cleveland Bass Club had 22 members fish Rayburn this past week-end - Heavy stringer Sat. was 11.72, big bass was 6.28, 36 bass caught. But man what a horrible day, rain ALL day. Sun. heavy stringer was 9.92, big bass was 5.29, 32 bass caught. They are shallow. plastics and chatter baits did most of the catching. Keep a tight line!!!! Quote

kking Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 i had someone pm me asking for some identifying way points for common terminology used in bass fishing ans what things looked like.......please correct me if i'm wrong but this is my opinion. it took me a long time to learn the terms and identify correctly so i thought it would be a good learning experience for everyone here on the forum i've included links to navionics... ditches are "drains" to bigger water. when the lake was low you could see ditches when it rained where the water funneled and ran to the body of water these are usually around flats, rivers are main waters before impoundment, flats are well flat ha ha ha. creeks have a beginning and a end when people say creek channels bends its bigger than a ditch but not the river, but usually runs to the main river and intersects it and is a major highway for bass..... and a point is well a point, a ridge is a ridge...... river: http://webapp.navion...,-94.313079,11z mouth of ditch: http://webapp.navion...,-94.304904,11z http://webapp.navion...,-94.301760,11z http://webapp.navion...,-94.298167,11z mouth of creek/intersection: http://webapp.navion...,-94.294645,15z end of creek: http://webapp.navion...-94.300879,14z\ flats: http://webapp.navion...,-94.295545,13z http://webapp.navion...,-94.301048,13z http://webapp.navion...,-94.308645,13z points: http://webapp.navion...,-94.290948,12z http://webapp.navion...,-94.341025,11z ridge: http://webapp.navion...,-94.283613,12z http://webapp.navion...,-94.214332,11z http://webapp.navion...,-94.208762,12z Having trouble with these links. When I click on them navionics goes to my home location instead of the links. Any suggestions? Quote
