roblo Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Y'all are right about the graphs, si/di ect. I'm needing to purchase new graphs, read tons of stuff on both Lowrance an the HBird. Leaning toward Lowrance, the spotlight scan really got my attention, without having the big system mounted on tm for the 360 deg with the bird. But, wow it is sharp too My concern is, I'm kinda tough on my tm at times lol I'm aware this is like a ford or Chevy subject BUT.. .... Could y'all throw me some pro's an cons about them. Haven't seen the si in action, spotlight scan or the 360, just you tube vid's If I should have posted this in another topic, feel free to move it. Thanks in advance PS an you hit the nail on the head about other forums (TFF) not much there Quote
shaneus Posted December 31, 2014 Author Posted December 31, 2014 I am going to look at Garmin the next time I buy graphs, I think they agree leading in the si technology right now! Quote
roblo Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Thanks for your response I've read some about them too, a guy on the other forum posted some pics of the new 2015's coming out shortly. Sure looked a lot clearer to me. Trees looked just like trees in the si, but again, that could just be me, lol Technology sure has came a long ways! Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Can't go wrong with any of them. The new Garmins look great along with the Raymarine. I use Humminbird. I like the Humminbird SI better than Lowrance and the mapping is WAY better IMO. Lowrance has better sonar. Quote
BulletDon Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Yep, fishing Basschamps Central, since I live over here. Might hit up one of the East tourney's, not sure yet. On another note. I do have 2 - 1199's for sale. I am upgrading to the Onix 10 touch screens. These were purchased 2/27/14. My units should be in towards the end of the month. If you are interested shoot me a pm. If you want them now they are $1800 ea, if you wait till mine come in they are $1700 ea. $500 non-refundable deposit will hold the unit. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Holler at me if you fish one of the east division tournaments. I should be able to fish all four. Quote
BulletDon Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I will do that. PM me your number again, I had to switch phones. Quote
roblo Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 I'm a machinist, 95% oil field work, waiting to see what happens in the next month before I pull the trigger for my fishing toys, lol Been hearing mixed results, have to wait it out. Better safe than sorry Thanks for the replies, and best of luck on those tourneys Quote
TxGator Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Hey Don, do those 1198's come with memory chips just drippin with Rayburn information. If so, I might have to try and talk my wife into it. Gator Quote
BulletDon Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Now TxGator, if it came with rayburn information, then you would not learn how to use the unit. But it is easy to use though and soon your screen will be filled with gps waypoints. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 I went today...sucked it up. 4 fish that weighed 11lbs. Fished deep most of the day with no success, moved up to 10ft and caught all four fish. Quote
roblo Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Was they in the hydrilla? I went the day after Christmas, was tough for me, but did catch a couple on the edges of the hydrilla Was fishing around the 147 bridge Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Yea I was close to the bridge. 2 fish were by bushes and 2 were in hydrilla. Quote
roblo Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Anybody been on Rayburn in the last couple days? If so, you do any good? How much did the lake come up after that good rain? Thanks Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Wouldn't mind getting a report. The lake goes off limits for me Monday. Quote
roblo Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 "Off limits"? That don't sound good. I have a camp close to the ramp at Harvey. Probably be late Feb early march before I get back on the water. Plenty of chores to do, never a dull moment, lol Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Fishing Basschamps next weekend so this week is "off limits" for all participants. Quote
roblo Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I got ya! I don't fish any tourneys, good luck with yours. Let us know how the lake was an how you did Thanks Quote
shaneus Posted January 13, 2015 Author Posted January 13, 2015 Fanatic your on a pretty good pattern from everything I've heard from lots of different people..... Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Good to know Shaneus. Thanks. I plan on sticking to it and hoping it produces a couple big bites Quote
roblo Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Any fishing reports on Big Sam? How's the lake look after all that rain, haven't been that way since Christmas weekend? Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Fishing was tough today. Had 308 boats show up for basschamps. I came in 13th with 16.12lbs. Should have had a little more, but that's fishing. Caught my fish deep. Not too bad for only my 3rd time to ever fish Rayburn lol Quote
roblo Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Sounds like you did pretty good, congrats! 13 out of 308, this time of year, was excellent in my standards! Was the lake full? Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Yea, looks to be close to pool. Water was a little more stained than it was 3 weeks ago. Quote
BulletDon Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Great finish on Rayburn for sure. Tough to beat 36 lbs, dang that was a sack for big Sam. 1 Quote
