Basically, I am about to purchase a reel for my flip-n-pitch combo...the Okuma Helios is up in my top 5, but I have one question...Is the line capacity strangely small or is it just me? I realize I can't flip 95 yards, but with say...40 pound braid, plus retying, snags, changing lures...I almost feel like it wouldn't last me but a couple trips!

So my question is...will 95 yards of line suffice for more than a couple trips before having to respool?

FYI Walmart has the Helios for $132

I dont use that big of braid so cant really say how long it last just letting you know about walmart price.

oh and if you do get it, shimano chronarch knobs fit it and you can add another bearing in each knob for 2 bearings per knob.

Do you have one that you put the septon 2 knobs on? I'd like to see some pics! I'm waiting to order a Helios Air. I've never owned an Okuma, however have almost pulled the trigger on a Helios more than once. The Air is the most stunning reel I have ever seen aside from some of the Steez variants. Never purchased outside Simano / Daiwa, so this will be a 1st. As far as line capacity is concerned, this I actually prefer. The spool on the Air looks very, very light! 120 yards of 12 lb. test is more than I will ever need for bass fishing. I hate casting without a full spool anyhow as distance decreases.

At a guess, you can get about 140 yards of 40lb braid on that reel. That would be about 90 yards more than you need.

Appreciate all the replies guys!

Special thanks goes out to Quake though! Never knew Walmart sold high quality reels like that! Now I can't decide between the Helios or the Smoke, but for around $140 might just get both!

And to Hogsticker and ghoti, glad you guys could assure me that the line capacity is perfectly fine, not scared to buy it now!

Thanks again!

had a Helios and put the sep2 knobs on it but wound up returning reel do to a couple issues. Cabelas didnt have another Helios for exchange so traded for CH50E put sep2 knobs on my 50mg..

No pic with the knobs but here one next to my 50 size shimanos for comparison of size.

Reel looks nice to palm. Almost as small as a 50. What issues did you encounter with the Helios if you don't mind me asking?
