Super User BASSclary Posted August 17, 2010 Super User Posted August 17, 2010 If you could never fish with a fishing lure, but could put a hook on any household item, what would it be? (It can't be anything fishing related) I am interested in hearing your answers! I think I would put a hook on a small can of Budweiser. Because who/what can't pass up a cold one ? 8-) Quote
Super User J Francho Posted August 17, 2010 Super User Posted August 17, 2010 I caught Makos using jigs made out of a Bud tall boy can. To answer your question, Gummy Worms. Quote
bandsr4me20 Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I honestly think that the gummy worms might actually work. Quote
River Rat316 Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 yeah they do.... won a bet with my son with gummy worms, didn't make my daughter happy that I stole one of her gummy worms! Quote
Big-O Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 They do. X2... When they came out in the late 70's, I was in Northern Fla. and used them as a joke...found out they worked just fine in certain situations. But so does a a variety of colored shoe laces and they last much longer ;D Big O www.ragetail.com Quote
1inStripes Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Beer cap I've known people to bend a beer bottle cap and attach a treble to the back and catch shad on up the state during their runs. I have an O'douls lure Ive yet to use. Quote

Bass_Fanatic Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I've caught 6,7,and 8lb striper by slipping a peice of a drinking straw over the top of a treble and putting it behind a popping cork. Works great in the river at the locks! Quote
NateFollmer Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 There's a guy that is always fishing on the river here and he uses gummy worms all the time for Walleye. I never tried it but I think I'm going to this year! I'd get one of those little hand brooms, snap the handle off and make a little 'walk the dog' style bait (like a spook). Quote
