Got a DVD in the mail from Bassmaster University today. 90 minutes of all kinda of techniques. It's free for this one. If I chose to join the BASS U program, I pay $12.95 up front. Then every month I get a new 90 minute DVD. If I don't like it, I send it back no charge. If I do, I pay $28 per DVD I decide to keep. Theoretically you can pay 12.95, get a DVD every month, watch it then send it back. I don't think I would "cheat the system". LOL. I may join. Anyone do this now or heard of it? The DVDs have some awesome stuff on them. At least this one does. 10 chapter DVD. Flipping and pitching, lipless, soft plastics, spinner bait, etc.

Joe.

Is this the Ultimate Tips and Techniques Series?

If so, some are good and some are bad.

Good way to start a DVD library.

NAFC did something very similar a couple of years back.  I don't know if their program is still around.  I didn't care for their strong arm tactics ( once you keep one DVD, you were locked in to keeping them all and of course, they wouldn't say how many were in the library).

I sent back the one from BASS without viewing it also for basically the same reason.  I'd rather purchase a set of DVD's of my choice than have someone I don't know assume what I know and don't know or what I like and don't.

I turned down the NAFC subscription last year because of what you mentioned. However the BASS one seems not as "strong arm". The rep said I can cancel anytime and pay for the ones I want and send back the ones I don't. If I cancel, then all of the DVDs stop coming. I trust BASS. Just my opinion. Plus, I really like the DVD. I would love to cuatomize my library with BASS stuff. I will just see how it goes.

If you want a DVD collection buy the Bass Pros series from Bass Pro Shops. I love this series!

Very informative and they spend the time describing the technique.

Next to this site its my go to place to study a technique.

I was wondering if that was any good. I might have to grab it.

Well, I just watched the DVD. I really like it.  This is my second BASS DVD (I got one free when I signed up for BASS)  To each his own I guess.  Good tips, good video of big bass, and interesting.  I like it.  :-)

My only take on it is something with that much fine print and that many stipulations ain't for me.  I just don't like feeling like I'm being scammed and that thing sure felt like a scam when I received mine.  I promptly sent it back in the envelope they provided.  I agree with some above that the internet has an abundance of the same information for completely free no charge....

I don't think there is too much fine print. If I like it, I keep it. If I don't, I send it back. As for the Internet, that is a useful tool. However with a library of DVDs I can go to the one I want to review or show others on easily. I keep these with my mags and other fishing studies.

Hope the old bump doesn't ruffle any feathers.....

5$, I was wondering if you got any more after the first two....and if so, were they any good.

I just watched the first one last night and was pretty impressed.  I'd assumed that I'd watch it and ship it back (free.)  But, I'm wondering if there isn't some value in watching some more.  I think the subscription price is awfully steep, but I liked what was there.  Very old, however.  I'm sure they're just recycling discs that have been mailed back for 10 years....keeping the overhead down, I suppose.
