pad slammer Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 I was wondering how much the guys who fish almost everyday spend on soft plastcs, cranks, etc.... In a given week or month? Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted August 8, 2010 Super User Posted August 8, 2010 Hard to tell. I usually stock up heavily once a year. I'll restock a few times throughout the year. I probably spent around 500-700 bucks this year on lures alone. 700 / 12 = 58.3. So somewhere around there, give or take a few bucks. I fish daily though. Most of my money this year has been spent on jigs and plastics. Toss in a handful of cranks as well. Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted August 8, 2010 Super User Posted August 8, 2010 Jigs and plastics are also my biggest expense. Add hooks, weights, line, the occasional chatterbait and crank, etc... :-/ I refuse to examine cost too closely-I really don't want to know. :-? Quote
boneil Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 After the initial shopping spree in late winter when I spend maybe a hundred or two on lures thats about it for the season. Maybe fifty dollars here and there on restocking soft plastics or a new lure. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted August 8, 2010 Super User Posted August 8, 2010 Depends on who your asking. My wife would say WAY to much, I say not nearly enough.............we meet in the middle, and I stay married Quote
I.rar Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 i buy when i start to run low on baits. i fish mostly plastics so my purchases are usually hooks , weights , line and plastics. unless i find some deals in the clearance bins , then ill murder those things. this year , ive spent less than $100...i think...so far. Blue Streak Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 I buy whenever I see something I like, I am a sucker for new baits especially soft baits. Some months just a few bucks some a hundred or so. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted August 8, 2010 Super User Posted August 8, 2010 Millions or so it seems. Quote

Red Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 I buy when I NEED something. I will buy just one pack of plastics at a time. This year on baits alone I have spent maybe $100, probably less. I guess you could say I don't "stock up". For example, in my box right now is two packs rage craws, one pack anacondas, one pack power worms, one pack senkos(only three left), one pack trick worms(three left), one pack baby rage craws, and one pack paca craws. A dozen or so jigs, maybe eight cranks, a few topwaters and spinnerbaits and thats it. Same goes for line, when I need it, I go get it. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted August 9, 2010 Super User Posted August 9, 2010 Asking a fisherman how much he spends on tackle, rods and reels is like asking a woman how much she weighs or how old she is. You just DON"T ask those sort of things. Quote
Scorcher214 Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 I usually stock up after my birthday, around end of February. Doesn't matter if im low on lures or not, i stock up lol. Throughout the season though, ill pick up a few things here and a few things there. I also usually buy one new rod a year. Quote
hookingem Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Way too much! Im a 17 year old kid who works a bunch of hours and really only buys gas, food, and fishing stuff. I'm also a sucker for a "good" deal. Quote
aarogb Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Lately it hasn't been much at all because I have been saving up to get some newer and much better rods and reels. This year I have probably only spent around $200.00 on new lures Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted August 9, 2010 Super User Posted August 9, 2010 I get a fishing allowance of 3 lures per week from Wally world instead of money. Lol Quote
Super User skunked_again Posted August 9, 2010 Super User Posted August 9, 2010 not much. i toss cranks 70% of the time so the only money i spend is when a fluke accident happens and i lose a crank or terminal tackle and worms. im 98.3431% sure ive not spent over $100 on tackle this season. Quote
etommy28 Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 way way too much, when *** knows who you are before you even say you name just from you number you know its too much. oh yeah and bass pro they have a check out line reserved for me..... or so it seems. Quote
bandsr4me20 Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Today when Academy put there stuff on 50 percent off and then 50 percent off that, lets just say i "stocked" up. Rage tail baby craws for 1.44 a pack. Clackin raps for 2 dollars. Xrap shads for 1.50. Just to name a few. Quote
Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted August 9, 2010 Super User Posted August 9, 2010 I just spent $80 this week on frogs, jigs, line. Prior to this week maybe $50 since April. Quote

Hook Set Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 I don't keep track, seriously, it would only make me sick. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted August 9, 2010 Super User Posted August 9, 2010 I fish every day 12 months of the year and I do not buy all that much. I do not lose too many freshwater water lures and bags of flukes and hooks are fairly cheap. Saltwater is another story, always losing something but I manly use spoons, jigs and soft baits which are reasonably priced. Quote
