HMGBASSER Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Anyone here used straight blk jigs for bass in clear to stain water? Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted September 10, 2013 Super User Posted September 10, 2013 I have used them in stained water, but never clear. In clear I like greens, browns, and black/blue colors. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted September 10, 2013 Super User Posted September 10, 2013 Black is a staple for low visibility. I tend to have a flash of color in my black jigs - a little brown, blue, or even chartreuse. 1 Quote
aceman387 Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 I fish a lot of clear strip mine pits and my favorite jig I use in the pits is a 5/16 black & blue jig with a zoom u vibe trailer (black & blue colored also). Quote
HMGBASSER Posted September 10, 2013 Author Posted September 10, 2013 I was thinking about putting a blue trailer pn the back? Quote

Super User WRB Posted September 10, 2013 Super User Posted September 10, 2013 The first jigs I used in the 50's were all black, a black hair jig called a Doll fly with black pork trailers and caught bass year around. Today I only use a black jig at night and during mid winter when fishing 35' to 40' of gin clear water. Tom Quote
