DBatey Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 I asked a friend who touched one at ICAST and he said its very soft. I am excited to see one for myself Quote
Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted August 8, 2010 Super User Posted August 8, 2010 They look nice. From the video looks to have real long legs. If they are sold somewhere around me would like to get the Yellow/Black one. Quote
Chris W. Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Here's some info i found on it. http://www.***.com/Koppers_Live_Target_Hollow_Body_Frog/descpage-KLTHBFG.html?large=GRB http://www.maplebassmasters.com/byron-velvick-icast-2010-koppers-frog/ Quote

Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted August 9, 2010 Super User Posted August 9, 2010 looks like it will catch a lot of fisherman ;D seriously tho , i don't believe that the super realistic paint job will do anything for a REACTION type bait !!! i am pretty sure that a bass will never see the top of that bait ........ Bingo. That goes for just about any topwater bait. Why do you think a $4.00 Rebel Pop R in a solid bone color will put as many quality fish in the boat as a bait costing 4X as much ? When it comes to topwater, bass don't know a meticulous hand paint job from crayon scrawlings done by a 4 year old. To a bass, white = the belly of something good to eat... Quote

Agreed. It's all about the action of the lure. Having a super cool paint job is next to useless on a frog. Quote
brushhoggin Posted August 9, 2010 Author Posted August 9, 2010 took you guys long enough ;D. i agree with everyone about bass not seeing the top and it being a reaction bait. that was my initial thought about it. if it were 7-8 bucks like my spros, it'd be justified Quote
Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted August 10, 2010 Super User Posted August 10, 2010 would be a nice mantle ornament !!!!! ;D ;D ;D Quote
SJB1226 Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 I was at Icast and I looked at them they are MUCH softer then Spro frogs... they feel softer then a Snag proof Tournament frogs and anyone that has one can tell you there much softer then a Spro frog and its softer then them! I know they are gonna excel in the hookup dept. but durability will suffer who cares tho! if I hook up more on frogs that means bigger fish= Bigger tourney paydays! Im gonna buy 5-6 as soon as I can find them and if I like how they fish I will buy 5 or so more right away! Quote

I agree about the color not being very important part But the part about a 4 dollar pop-r catching just as many fish as lures that cost 4X as much? Very not true lol Rio's MB Pop-x's Evergreen One's bug ect ect, Will FAR out preform those cheap poppers... they are made to give that perfect bloop that some guys will buy 20 pop-r's or others like it looking to find one of two out of that 20 that they like and then modify them to give that perfect bloop and spit that kills fish! Those high dollar poppers have that built in! everyone is close to perfect no need to buy a lot of them to find one or two that really stand out and then sit down and mod them... thats why they cost so much and YES they DO catch more fish. Ask any hard core popper guy and they will agree with me! Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 I will agree that a Yellow Magic will out perform a Rebel Pop R, but to be honest, its not tha much different. And I am a firm believer in the Storm Chug Bug, that thing has caught more fish for me than all other poppers combined!! Quote
