Super User Crestliner2008 Posted September 8, 2013 Super User Posted September 8, 2013 This small, top water bait has been producing very well for me over the past couple of weeks. Yes, it is a popper; but more than that, with the right set-up, I can "walk-the-dog" with this bad boy so easily it's evil!I'm using a 7' LIGHT action spinning rod. 6# test fireline on a Cardinal 101, with a 4' section of 8# test MONO attached to the business end via an Alberto knot. A small snap connects the bait to the leader. You can cast this thing a mile and she starts walking right away, with very little effort. Pause and pop....then continue to walk. Ended up with 14 LM last week and several this week. Biggest was only about 3 lbs., but loads of fun on a "near" UL set up.This particular Pop N' Image Jr. has Bill Dance's signature on it. Not sure where you can get one now. Got mine several years ago. With the leaves starting to turn now and the bass getting on the "bite", top waters should really come into their own. And, for what it's worth, this lure is deserving of your attention! Here's what it looks like: Quote
John Lipe Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 I really like the set up you have sound like fun . Quote
Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted September 8, 2013 Super User Posted September 8, 2013 I love light spinning gear for pop-r's !! Quote

bassh8er Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 This lure can still be found for sale; the Spit'n image is my FAVORITE bait for top water, and I buy all I can find on eBay. Quote
SGT Rico Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 This is one of my favorite top water baits. Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted September 9, 2013 Super User Posted September 9, 2013 They have the bigger one (not the JR) for sale at Gander Mtn. Nice looking baits, may have to pick one up and give it a try. I love Popping the topwater, caught my new PB (5lb6oz) on a Baby Bass Pop-R this weekend Any experience with the Sr versus the Jr? Quote
Super User bigbill Posted September 9, 2013 Super User Posted September 9, 2013 Your right some leaves are turning colors while other leaves are falling already. The fall bite has started. Good info on a good top water lure. Yup it's in my tackle box too. Again me/we get into a rut and I don't try everything as much as I should. I need to switch to different brands of topwater lures more often. I tend to throw one lure way too often. I will throw your lure asap. Quote
Super User bigbill Posted September 9, 2013 Super User Posted September 9, 2013 This is one of my favorite top water baits. What is it? It looks familiar to me....a BPS topnocker??? bb Quote
