KyakR Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 There's no bass ever like that first one. I'm new on this site and can tell you there isn't a better place to get feedback than here. Ooh, look! Here comes the bait monkey!! Quote
Lostinthewoods Posted September 17, 2013 Author Posted September 17, 2013 Thanks for the comments guys and gals! Following my first catch I wasn't having much luck with crank baits. I decided to start reading up on Jigs and boy am I glad I did! I headed out today with my new jigs and trailers to give it a try. The day started out disappointing and I kept thinking to myself that I was doing something wrong. I whipped out my cell phone to pull up bassresource.com to review my technique. I still had no luck. So I headed off to the pond where I caught my first LMB and stuck with the technique I had just read about... Moments later I had a bite but totally missed the hook set! The next cast I had a fish on. About a foot from shore I lost her. That d**n hook set thing again! A couple more tries and an epic hook set later and I had landed my second bass ever (I will stop counting soon, I promise ). I'll guesstimate 5-6lbs. 10-15 minutes later and I had another in the 3-4 lb range. I think I'll stick with this jiggin' thing! Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted September 19, 2013 Super User Posted September 19, 2013 Congrats! May you catch many more! Quote
TWMstr Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Solid 4lber man. Awesome job. Wish you future luck in with all your catches. I've had a summer of failed attempts at bass fishing and am still very new to it. Today I decided to hit a local pond before work and it paid off! I caught this guy on a Bomber crankbait that I picked up recently. I'm not sure how large it was but I'd guess 2-3 lbs? It matters not though. I'm hoping this is at least a start to a fall fishing season full of bass! basspic1.gif Quote
