Would a Curado 50e that is brand new be worth it for $160? Or would it be worthwhile to spend the extra to get the Chronarch 50e since they're essentially the same reel?

If you don't buy it, PLEASE inform me of who is selling it if it's online, because I will in 2 seconds.

I've seen them sold on fleabay for $130....but at $160 you're in the upper end of the maximum.

i'd say $160 is about par for a new curado 50E. you're right that the chronarch 50E is essentially the same reel but it has a composite drag star instead of an aluminum (downgrade), has a carbon drag disc plus a dartanium one versus two dartaniums in the curado E (not sure how much difference that makes) but larger septon power grip knobs (and upgrade IMHO). up to you...i personally didn't care for the green color and went with the chronarch 50E. FWIW, you can also get a japanese domestic market scorpion 1000XT for about $210...essentially the same reel as the other two but with slightly-better bearings and a nice burgandy paint.

I bought my Chronarch 50e on eBay from a retailer for around $170... FWIW. Brand new.

that's about the max I would pay for one brand new but it's fair.

Just bought one on Ebay for 150 plus 11 shipping.. BNIB.

That's the one I was looking at, actually. Beat me to it. Oh well.

I don't like the white paint scheme, but I do like the bigger Septon knobs. I may just deal with the paint job and get a Chronarch 50e.

Is there really a noticeable difference in lightweight lure casting versus a 200 size Curado/Chronarch?

for 3/8oz+ lures, generally no. for the 1/4oz weights there is quite a noticeable difference between the two.

Sorry for grabbing it from under you, I have looked every day for a few weeks for new curado e's. I'm 16 and I work 2 jobs to pay for my gas guzzler and stupid expensive fishing habits.

I just got mine in the mail today!!! Paid $140 for it. Was used slightly but looks brand new. Just keep hunting. They are out there. Now I just need a rod for it.

The curado 50e has composite dragstar same as chronarch50e so no downgrade there. The handle on the CH50e only allows 1 bearing per knob the curado 50e handle allows 2 bearings per knob.

No, I did not jump right on it, I bought it at 10pm after work, 7 hours later, I assumed he'd found one in a store or knew someone, I'd been saving for a few weeks to get a new reel, the local stores were sold out of Ch 50e's and I searched new curado 50e and found one, bought it.

There are more Curado 50e's on ebay, I looked at several before purchasing that one.

Saving 50 bucks makes a huge difference for a 16 year old, I make about 400-650 a month and use 70-100 a week on gas in my truck, so the leftovers are put aside for fishing gear.

jd96,hootie was joking... i think you must've missed the '' lol''.

Thank you 21 farms. I apologize JD96 if I made you mad. Just picking on you a bit. I deleted 2 of my previous posts.

Besides, Hey, you got a good deal, and the OP did not seem one bit upset. Besides, all's fair in love, Ebay, and bass fishing, right.

Also, I would not want to get the Mods on my tail, or have anyone on this forum coming after me. Heck, everybody on here knows where to find me...lol.... and I do mean...LOL.
