I agree, Robert.  From the coaches on down, there's no love-loss there.  The Niner's are a talented team and fought hard.  Both teams are at the top of their game right now. In my mind, the real Superbowl was last night.  I've been saying all season that whomever wins the NFC title will go on to win the Superbowl (sorry Broncos fans), and that was well before I knew who the teams were going to be.

Anyway, Robert - the rivalry between Crabtree and Sherman go further back than last week's comments by Crabtree.  Take a look: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-am/0ap2000000315587/Real-reason-behind-Sherman-s-outburst

Also, for anyone who wants to hate the Hawks because of Sherman's mouth - hate the player, not the team.  Sherman was emotional and in "game mode", so they caught him at a bad moment.  The rest of the players had nothing but praise for the 49'rs despite the rivalry. Most of the Hawks were late drafts or undrafted free agents, so they worked their butts off to make it to the big game, and they don't forget where they came from - they're quite humble, as well as active in the community.  For example, Russel Wilson visits the local Children's Hospital every week with his wife without fail.

So be upset with Sherman for letting his emotions get to him on camera, but don't place that burden on the whole team.

No hater here at all , there was some trash on the field I would assume to that contributed as well , but it's like you said , emotions run high , some of them need to learn a little about how to keep them in check , collect yourself before commenting if you must , there is no doubt Sherman is a huge talent though .

Sherman may be the most talented man to ever play the game. I do not know or care. What I do know is that I had the game on as mostly background noise, and just happened to see his melt-down. His aggressive and irrational tirade was beyond the pale. While you can talk all you want about history and emotion there is no justification for that kind of behavior. It simply reinforces the stereotype of football player as thug IMO.

Mr. Sherman squandered a prime opportunity, an ailment of youth.

Looking back at it, I'm betting he'd admit it was not one of his proudest moments.

If he possess the character to match his athletic ability, we'll hear more from him about this soon.

As a Patriots fan - that AFC Championship game was tough to watch.

New England has had championships in the past but all of the recent success has been in the regular season and the post season has been a bust.

I hate to say this -

but it looks like the New England Patriots have switched places with the Boston Red Sox ~

Oh the Horror . . . . . . .

It's a shame really , I mean , if he keeps going on this path one would have to think of past players that have had attitudes like this , Moss ,  Owens , Ochocinco , even though Moss I think out performed them all , the career they have had bouncing from one team to another and eventually not being the threat they once were or able to showcase the true talent they once had , there is no denying the talent this young man has , but I wonder if he will become just another statistic if he continues this path .

Fun fact for the day. The top 2 teams as far as PED suspensions this year, #1 Seattle #2 Denver.

This year's Super Bowl features the #1 Offense vs. #1 Defense.

Who could ask for more? I'll be interested to hear from Seahawk

fans on who they think will be the deal maker for Seattle.

The concensus has always been "defense decides the playoffs".

That may very well be the case, but Super Bowls are often lopsided.

I'm expecting Manning to put up a lot of points and Wilson to struggle.

Denver 34

Seattle 13

As a philly sports fan for all of my 37 years on this earth, I would gladly swap out teams winning championships in the city.  lol

You have to admit A-Jay, that you had to be real surprised with the Pats this year considering all the injuries they had to key peeps, not to mention the fact that their top receiver was a quarterback at Kent Freaking State!...LOL

Yes I was - no doubt.

But I stand by my assessment - because despite the injuries, they got my hope up and then CRUSHED THEM.

Just like the Red Sox did for 4 generations . . .

But hey, there's always next year.

While sherman did go a bit overboard i agree with forbes.... Put a mic in front of a players face minutes after he was the intrical part of a game winning play that took them to the super bowl against a player they had history with..what did you think he was going to do......

Still wanting to believe if both teams bring their A-game Seattle will do it. Aweome defense and if Wilson is moving it could be good. :)

Let's hope we have some better weather, I want both teams to have their A Game going.

Being as impartial as possible, I really think that Denver is gonna win this one going way. Seattle's Defense is amazing but Denver has too many weapons for that awesome secondary.

I'm with RW as far as a lop sides score.

Denver wins 38-17

I'm really on the fence with this game. Usually I'd look for a good defense trumping a good offense but Manning has SO many options that can beat you. The Denver D looked pretty good in their own right last week. If Denver makes it a 2-3 possession lead can Seattle make that up? On the other hand that's an elite Seattle secondary and Manning has layed quite a few eggs in the playoffs over the years.

I'm picking Seattle based on that D and overall team toughness.

Even a great defense would be holding manning to 24 points or so but i don't think seattle can keep up offensively in this one even with that killer defense.
