derekxec Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 i dont know how all these teams will win the superbowl when the titans are going to win it this year Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted September 9, 2013 Author Super User Posted September 9, 2013 A few surprises yesterday. Not only did the Titans win but Kansas City, NY Jets and Cowboys all won. I thought the only games these teams could win was if they played each other! That leaves the Raiders with the only legitimate a shot at 0-16. Â Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted September 9, 2013 BassResource.com Administrator Posted September 9, 2013 The Chiefs are better than most people think, as are the Bengals. Those two teams are going to surprise a lot of folks. 1 Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted September 9, 2013 Super User Posted September 9, 2013 I'm wondering how many injuries the Bears will fake this year when other teams run the no-huddle offense. Anyone care to start a pool? Maybe the pool should be which team, the giants or the bears fake more injuries thhroughout the season. derekxec Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 hey lol my titans are awesome and it turns out steelers had the safety curse lol jax got one and failed and steelers got one and failed too haha Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted September 10, 2013 Super User Posted September 10, 2013 Pinch me....the Eagles look good but the skins are not that good of a team. Â My prediction of RG choking is coming true...he is not ready and has way to much Diva in him but so does Desean Jackson and Hall, wow what a knucklehead. Â Come on 2nd half!!! Quote

Super User Darren. Posted September 10, 2013 Super User Posted September 10, 2013 Not to proud of the Pats this week...  Well, your team won because my team didn't manage the clock very well. Brady only needs 10 seconds to hurt you, Bills gave him 4 minutes.  But holy cow, the Eagles are looking very good. Or the Skins are looking very bad, making the Eagles look very good... or all of the above. 1 Quote

Both i think.....next week should be interesting to see how teams can adjust now that they have a week of game film to review.  The skins look underpreared and have given up.  There is no way this should be RG3's first game back.  Even a series or two in the preseason would have helped out. Next week will reveal a lot. I wonder how many variables Kelly has in his playbook to make it tough for opposing teams to prepare for the first few weeks.  Eager to see if Marrone and staff can fix (coaching) mistakes made (clock management, etc.) for next week.  But Griffin does look extremely rusty tonight. Agree that a few snaps would've given him *something* of a preparation for the real season. I can't help but think he is reticent to put 100% on his knee. Edited September 10, 2013 by DarrenM Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted September 10, 2013 Super User Posted September 10, 2013 It does seem like Kelly has gone more conventional in the second half so it will be interesting to see what else he has in the playbook. Â RG is definitely tentative and looks scared. Quote

But if he isn't able to perform he shouldn't play, rest, and get healthy... Normally i would cut a guy a lot more slack in his situation but i cannot stand his attitude. Â Basically rips the coach, says he is ready and wants to play in the preseason and doesn't know the plan for him to come back. Â He did have a good rookie year but he wasn't the best rookie on his team and as time goes on we will all see he isn't the best QB of his draft class either. Â Oh well, the Eagles won so I am happy but i wish the second half would have kept going like the first.... Quote

RGIII seems to be a legit dude with skills to back up his reputation... Now Manziel?..... but I digress. Â Either way, arrogance is irritating, and a humbling experience is often the key to bring it in to check. Hopefully that's the case here. If not, then he's gonna get seriously humbled in the pros as opposed to collegiate ranks. Quote

If not, then he's gonna get seriously humbled in the pros as opposed to collegiate ranks. With training camp being here in Richmond we were privy to a bunch of conversations and interviews that weren't part of the national media coverage. Â I agree he is talented but his attitude kills me. Â No 2nd year QB should come out and say they don't need a preseason and they are ready to go....just shows me his lack of willingness to learn. Â I don't think you would have heard that kind of comment from a Manning or McNabb or Rogers. Â Now he is young and needs to grow up and my attitude may also be tainted by all the redskins chatter i hear at work about how great he is and he should be MVP blah blah blah.....Guess being an Eagles fan we are kind of brought up learning to pick out the problems more than supporting the positives.......I mean look at how much McNabb was trashed in Philly media after having the best QB career of any philly QB hand's down....and for the record i liked the guy. Quote
Super User Darren. Posted September 10, 2013 Super User Posted September 10, 2013 Can't disagree on McNabb. Â But as for attitude, I'm sure y'all heard stuff in the local media we didn't hear in the broader media. Too bad (for us). But FWIW, I am more keen on Luck than I ever was on RGIII. The latter, to me, may end up a sad song in the NFL symphony. Something of a beautiful melody that didn't get to play due to brazenness and such. Whatev. I'm a Bills fan, so there!!! LOL Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted September 16, 2013 Author Super User Posted September 16, 2013 After week two it's obvious that the Broncos are the team to beat. To run the table they will have to deal with winning their play-off position in November. This issue faced John Elway as a player, so maybe he has some new ideas to deal with it this year. Â Today's game featured a little bit of a running game and a tremendous performance by special teams. The defense stood tall, but is still missing key components that should be back in a week or two. Â Todays score was not really indicative of Denver's dominance. Eli played well, but the Giants are not a great team. Unfortunately, the Bronco's schedule is pretty weak, so the real challenges will be in the play-offs. Â When it counts, it's One And Done. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted September 16, 2013 Super User Posted September 16, 2013 In case anyone missed it, the Eagles can pretty much score at will or so it seems but the defense couldn't stop a pop warner team. Â Basic tackling mistakes, multiple dumb penalties.....kills me. Â Oh, and RG3 is not having a sophomore slump, he is not that good and his biggest strength is being taken away from him by not allowing him to run. Â Let the kid play, hope he stays healthy and if not, play cousins, he is pretty good too. 1 Quote

Even local Florida stations are apologizing about having to air their games. . . I think the Jags might have a lock on 0-16 this year.  I have to say I am pleasantly surprised with my Chiefs, matching their 2 wins from last year in their first 2 games this year, though still not a SB contender.  As much as it pains me to say it, the Broncos have the best looking team so far this season.  Quote

Season ticket owner in 8th grade and a proud member of the Wolf Pack. Even after moving to Denver in 1981, I remained a loyal fan until John Elway won me over. I was there for the Super Bowl parade in Kansas City in 1970. Now commonly known as Super Bowl IV, technically this was the first "Super Bowl".
