Super User roadwarrior Posted December 30, 2013 Author Super User Posted December 30, 2013 The Broncos wrapped up the regular season in the first half against Oakland. They sat Peyton down after he became the all time leader in passing yardage for a single season. Let the games begin! 2 Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted December 30, 2013 Super User Posted December 30, 2013 I only got to see late in the 3rd since I'm was stuck driving. When they did run it looked like they kept running the ball up the middle and it was no surprise for dallas Dallas did a good job keeping the Eagles from working outside the hash marks but it wore them down. The last quarter you could tell they were getting tired. McCoy still had 131 yards and set the Eagles records for rushing yards and yards from scrimmage in a season. He had a monster year and i hope it all continues. Quote
Super User Oregon Native Posted December 30, 2013 Super User Posted December 30, 2013 Dallas is like the Charlie Brown of the league... Good griefCheer leaders still pleasant to watch!!! 1 Quote
craww Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 It was good game.Hats off to the Dallas D they played their butt off, shame the offense put them in such a tight spot with those 2 early turnovers. If Dallas had been able to get into field goal range that goal line stand/decision to go for it would have been talked about for awhile. Quote
Super User Teal Posted December 30, 2013 Super User Posted December 30, 2013 In other news, apparently Santa Clause did not bring Matt Ryan a decent offensive line for Christmas. I'm a rabid Carolina fan and I'm happy we sacked him 9 times but I started to feel bad for him. He was getting the hell knocked out of him everytimebhe dropped back... The offensive line for Atlanta is horrid. Happy that Carolina has a bye and a home game. We need those two weeks hopefully to get 89 back. And I have noticed that Charlotte has become a very difficult place to play... Either Greenbay or SanFran will coming.. Quote
Super User Teal Posted December 30, 2013 Super User Posted December 30, 2013 What do yall think of some of the Head coach firings? Shanahan fired. I think it was the right move Leslie Frazier fired. Wrong move. They have a talented roster, just horrid at the qb.. I would have gave him another season. Chudzinski Fired. Wrong move... I mean hell he just got there Kubiak was fired several weeks ago.. I think I it was time to move on... But I would have been ok of they kept him for one more year.. 1 Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted December 30, 2013 Super User Posted December 30, 2013 If the Eagles win they go to Carolina not San Fran or Green bay. I also agree with the firings except frasier. He had those guys playing hard in meaningless games and winning without AP. I am not sure how you can fire a guy in his first season either. Every time i watched the Browns I was always shocked at their record. They seemed like a much better football team. The talking heads are saying Shannahan is the lead guy for the Texans. I am looking forward to the circus of the redskins this offseason and next year 1 Quote

Super User Teal Posted December 30, 2013 Super User Posted December 30, 2013 Bill O'Brien from Penn state is the leader for the Houston Job. I could agree with Shanahan in Houston on the basis of the offensive system being the same. Quote

Yes I agree , and I agree with the rest of your post as well , I think the replacement options would be Ken Whisenhunt and Jay Gruden , Ken would be a pretty good choice and could possibly bring Grimm with him as an offensive line coach , Jay on the other hand has taken the Bengals to three straight play-off seasons , with all of the contracts that are up in the Redskins organization , this could be one of the best decisions . And the skins get some money back from from salary cap debacle this year too. Now they just need some picks in the first round again Unfortunately i see the skins becoming a second dallas team unless snyder can step back and hire football people to do football things. Should be an interesting offseason for a lot of teams since it seems like about 10 teams fire their coaches today. Quote

Interesting , I don't see Snyder the same way , at least nowhere near Dallas , we are in the top 3 I think this year , so , not too bad , the salary cap will be an added bonus for us for sure , that little extra breathing room could play in our favor , my hope is that they do not go with a college coach !! Congrats to Philly by the way !!! Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted December 30, 2013 Super User Posted December 30, 2013 I see the potential in snyder to be a jerry jones and all the stuff that came out about him and the preferential treatment with RG led me to my conclusion. I actually heard on ESPN radio that they said snyder and jones both think they are playing fantasy football All that they traded away for RG is either going to be a huge win or a major bust..only time will tell And the philly game was a nail biter and as much as i wanted to think it was going to be a blowout i knew better. I am glad they had a tough game to win to get in. Now it is all about prepping for the Saints....gonna be a wild one on hopefully a cold night in south philly. I just hope Brees playoff road winning streak stays in tact... Quote

I agree with you, especially on the Browns firing: Quite an ending for sure. Hard to believe Cleveland is 4 - 9 or whatever they are now. Pretty darn good team IMO. Hard to believe they didn't give Chudzinski a chance. I thought the players really played hard for him. I can't really comment on Shanahan and Frazier, I really didn't see those teams play. As far as Kubiak, his team kind of fell apart at the end of last season and this year they just never got it together, so the writing was on the wall. Quote

HA !! That's what I mean Nitro, the Browns were awful in the standings, but I watched them play a few games this year and thought that they were a lot better than their record showed. You're an avid Skins fan, did the players stop playing for Shanahan? I thought that they brought RG3 back way too soon from surgery, but from what I heard and read, that was the owner who wanted him in there and not the coach. Sounded to me like the owner just cared about putting @$$e$ in the seats and didn't care about the well being of the player. As a matter of fact, at the beginning of the season, I think you and I had a conversation about RG3 not being 100% this year? Quote

As a matter of fact, at the beginning of the season, I think you and I had a conversation about RG3 not being 100% this year? They didn't stop playing for him , they just simply were not disciplined , tackling , ball handling , assignments , it's like they were not the pro's they were hired to be , a lot of that rests on the coaches shoulders , even more rests on the players shoulders to make plays , it was like they were all there to just simply pick up a paycheck and go home , the bright spot of the season , the offensive line and Morris , what a great year , well , it could have been better for sure but still , I think it deserved a fair amount more focus on how to use it more effectively , especially in our red zone offensive schemes . RG3 , yes , they should have benched him this season , I feel that they brought him in thinking they could pick up where they left off last year with the same scheme , what they did was put a QB in that did not have enough reps with his receivers during the off season , the other issue was that Cousins was conditioned to stand in for RG3 , the receivers were prepped for RG3 through Cousins , that match never happened , they should have prepped Cousins for his own scheme along with the receivers and started Cousins . Good to see you here my friend !!! 1 Quote

I am glad people gave me cash for Christmas and not gift cards because that is where the money will be going Quote
5dollarsplash Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 High of 11 Sunday in GB, low around -6. Lots of time for that to change, but its gonna be tough to play in that. Hopefully it bothers the 49ers more. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted December 31, 2013 Super User Posted December 31, 2013 d**n....tickets sold out in minutes so i am out of luck unless i want to spring or $200 a pop tickets in the resale world....i think i am going to wait and see the result of this game and maybe make a road trip to carolina should they play them there Quote
