Super User flyfisher Posted December 24, 2013 Super User Posted December 24, 2013 Lee has been listed as out this week too.... I bet a lot of people are glad they put their bets in when the line was dallas giving 2.5 early yesterday....last i checked Eagles are giving 5.5 Quote
craww Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Dallas sporting news is reporting as of 2 hours ago Sean Lee is "day to day" according to Garrett and it will take a few days before they know. Quote

craww Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 so is romo...if romo is done for the season, almost surely Lee will sit as well. w/o lee, mccoy will have a field day vs dallas. I agree 100%. Lee is as good as it gets in maintaining coverage assignments and jumping underneath routes. If Lee cant go and carter has to play the mike McCoy may go off. Carter is one of the fastest LB's in football (he caught julio jones from behind) but he can be fooled in coverage. Danny Woodhead and the chargers put a hurting on him earlier this year with 2 TDs. On a positive note return ace and 3wr Dwayne harris is back this week. Beasley has made some clutch catches but Harris is special with the ball in his hands. A big reason they've struggled lately is they've been losing the field position battle. I've always felt he should get the ball more. Quote

Super User iabass8 Posted December 26, 2013 Super User Posted December 26, 2013 Rodgers is finally back for what will probably be an epic GB/Chi game /w a playoff spot on the line. I wish they would just rule romo out already so they would unflex that inevitably boring game and put the gb/chi game on SNF. Quote
bassh8er Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Respectfully, I disagree. Baltimore, although I hate them, beat Denver, the Pats and the 49ers, arguably the 3 best teams in the NFL last year. Winning one of them games is an upset, all 3, in a row, makes you the superior team, by far. Respectfully, Denver beat Baltimore 38-3 on the road last year in December. They lost the one that matters in January though. Quote
shootermcbob Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 So, If I am hearing you guys right, you don't think the road to the super bowl goes through Jon Kitna???? As a cowboys fan, and believe me, it is hard to be a cowboys fan these days, I laughed out loud at the picture of the "cowboys" hoover above. I thought it interesting that Michael Irvin...the voice of reason???....came out the other day and said what I have been saying for the past several years. The cowboys are not a talented football team. They have no chance against a rapidly improving eagles team....with Romo. Without him, it is going to be ugly. 1 Quote

The Cowboy's are a .500 team and there's no way around that. I don't think they would have beaten Philly this week with Romo and they d**n sure won't without him. He has a herniated disk, Garrett hasn't officially ruled him out but he isn't playing this week. Sean Lee has already been ruled out. The outcome of Sunday's game doesn't matter much because Philly sucks too. Neither team will win a playoff game. Quote

Other than their one game flop against Minnesota the defense has been aging really well and I don't think had let up over 21 points since the Denver game back in week 4. The offense is clicking and I really don't think anyone wants to try and stop their offense. They are also peaking at the right time. Quote

We'll see, they've only beaten like 2 teams with a winning record. The Bears win was very impressive but they've had some bad losses against some bad teams. I don't think they are much better than the Cowboy's, although they are better with Foles over Vick. Time will tell I guess. Quote

No use arguing but to say that the Cowboys are only slightly worse than the Eagles is kind of silly really when you look at the historically bad defense they have and the offense of the Eagles is way better than that of the cowboys, especially considering it is an all new system and a new QB. Guess we will see what happens on Sunday though.... 1 Quote

Guess we will see what happens on Sunday though.... In my opinion they're both mediocre teams. I do think the Eagles will be better next year, (assuming that they don't lose any key players). Their QB and their coach will have had more time on the job and should get better. To say that they are more than mediocre this year is wishful thinking, I'm just looking at their season. I don't think they can hang with any of the really good teams in the NFL, not this year. The Cowboys on the other hand, will be a .500 team until Jerry Jones is no longer in the picture. Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted December 27, 2013 Super User Posted December 27, 2013 Dallas won't win sunday. However, philly, as much as they have improved, most likely won't make it past round 1. Yes, they have "improved" but if you actually look at their wins since week 9 when Foles took over full time, they have faced the likes of Oak(pryor's a joke), GB(didn't have rodgers, used a 2/3 string QB), Wash(RG3....), Ari(solid, close win), Det(game was fun to watch, but mccoy won this game, not foles or the D in 6in of snow), Min(lost to an AP-less team) and Chi. of those 7, Ari was the only impressive win(and a close one) but that almost gets negated because they got embarrassed by Minn and lost to NYG in week 8. Saying Philly sucks is silly. their a better and more talented team than Dallas but not far and away. Assuming they beat DAL and NO beat TB in NO this week, philly will be playing brees in NO and finally get to put their "improved" secondary to a test. The would honestly have a better shot in SF vs a run game that philly is actually okay against. Philly may get lucky in NO if ryan decides to have his DEF play mccoy they same way they did lynch a couple weeks ago (lynch i think was held to 50 yds) and let foles just throw throw throw at will but that's a long shot. Brees is going to have a field day on philly's near bottom rated secondary. Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted December 27, 2013 Super User Posted December 27, 2013 Foles started the week 7, 30-3 loss to Dallas too. Quote
Super User tomustang Posted December 27, 2013 Super User Posted December 27, 2013 It took time for foles to grow with the team and it panned out. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted December 27, 2013 Super User Posted December 27, 2013 Foles started the week 7, 30-3 loss to Dallas too. check your stats and they lost 17-3. The Eagles secondary and defense will always have lots of yards against them because of the disparity in the time of possession and because the majority of times teams are playing from behind and the Eagles are in the prevent defense. Their defense has done very well as of late and playing new orleans at home in colder weather doesn't concern me....mainly because they have to win this week first against dallas. Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted December 27, 2013 Super User Posted December 27, 2013 check your stats and they lost 17-3. You're right, not sure where I got 30 from. Quote

Super User iabass8 Posted December 28, 2013 Super User Posted December 28, 2013 The eagles better do a better job of controlling the clock this sunday. When they almost always have less time of possession than their opponent aside from maybe a 1-2 min difference in a couple games, their D better step up. Orton has been out a while and is old but who knows..he could josh mccown the eagles on sunday. Quote

Orton has been out a while and is old but who knows..he could josh mccown the eagles on sunday. Chip Kelly has said all season that he could care less about controlling the clock. Early in the season it seemed like he would try and take up more time in the second half or after getting a lead and it would let the other team back in it. Once he figured out that he was better off just keeping the gas pedal down things were going much ore smoothly. I do agree that the defense needs to show up but with as poor as a defense as Dallas has the Eagles offense should be able to outscore Dallas even if the defense lets up 30 points. If Dallas was smart they would run Murray 30-35 times and try and keep the ball away from Foles, Jackson and McCoy as much as possible. Definitely looking forward to the game.... Quote
