BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted December 3, 2013 BassResource.com Administrator Posted December 3, 2013 Yes the record was broken again. But no, it's not the loudest it's ever been at a Seahawks game. They're just starting to make the levels official this year. The Hawk's fans have been notoriously loud since the late '80s. Local media has shown the "unofficial" average around 120db, with peak levels north of 140db in the past. They've even detected small earthquakes by nearby sensors during games! Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted December 4, 2013 BassResource.com Administrator Posted December 4, 2013 Something tells me Dave Krieg and Rick Mirer didn't have the crowds as loud as they are now... That "something" is wrong. Many folks know the Hawks fans are known as the 12th Man. Some folks even know that the Seahawks retired the #12 jersey in honor of the LOUD and loyal fans for their commitment and ability to literally change the tempo of games in the Kingdome due to the noise. But most folks don't know that happened in 1984 - a year that, yes, Dave Krieg was quarterback. Here's an article from 1985 (another Krieg year) that depicts just one of those games. You'll see it sounds strangely familiar to today's games: http://www.shannonlove.com/seahawks_from_a_fan%27s_point_of_view.htm Quote

Kudos to the fans of the Seahawks for not only sticking by their team, but energetically rooting them on, amid all of the suck they went thru. Now my question is, did they do that for Jim Zorn as well? Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted December 4, 2013 BassResource.com Administrator Posted December 4, 2013 Absolutely. 1984 was the first year Krieg played. Before that, it was Zorn. The 12th Man earned the title well before the jersey number was retired. Quote

Super User Oregon Native Posted December 5, 2013 Super User Posted December 5, 2013 Seattle is sure fun to watch thats for sure. I love watchin QB's that can move and if they play in the evening I can fish or hunt during the day. (approaching perfect day here) Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted December 5, 2013 BassResource.com Administrator Posted December 5, 2013 You're talking old school now...the Dan Doornik and Jacob Green days. I was lucky enough to attend the first 'Hawks game in '76, and have been a fan ever since. 1 Quote

I honestly could not tell you that he would be , but truly agree with the rest of your post . Even though my team is mathematically eliminated , I will say that this is the strongest arm in the NFL , if he could shut his mouth and focus on hitting his target , and we get a deep threat receiver that could actually catch a ball , who knows how far we could go , say what you want , number one in the rush , and number 4 offense , is not a bad building block for next year , I do wish all of your teams the best of luck this year , if I has to pick , I would have to go with Seattle to be there in the end , they are looking pretty dang tuff !!!!! Super User flyfisher Posted December 7, 2013 Super User Posted December 7, 2013 Washington may put up yards but they struggle with points as they are in the bottom half of the league there. And strongest arm in the league....yeah i could see the argument but with his accuray down this year it doesn't matter much and combine that with all the drops and they have some work to do. I like morris as long as he stays north south and doesn't try to get all fancy. He is a bruiser and needs to keep it that way. Seattle is tough at home especially. All i can hope for is they get complacent since they have pretty much everything wrapped up already and then the eagles sneak into the playoffs and steal a victory Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted December 7, 2013 Author Super User Posted December 7, 2013 It's a real dilemma for the top teams: Do you keep your first team at fever pitch so they stay sharp or rest them to keep players healthy? During the Elway Era Denver faced this issue nearly every season. What did the Patriots do when they looked like they were going to run the table? Quote

During the Elway Era Denver faced this issue nearly every season. What did the Patriots do when they looked like they were going to run the table? I don't know if that applies here - The Pats are routinely so banged up with so many starters out - the tail end of their schedule is spent playing second & third string guys and guys off the practice squad; it's almost like training camp. During the Elway Era Denver faced this issue nearly every season. What did the Patriots do when they looked like they were going to run the table? The Pats kept everybody playing, while the colts rested Manning every year at the end. They both work, depending on the team. The pats lost welker in the last meaningless game of the season a couple years ago when his knee blew out, so bad things can and do happen when you play them. Quote

I don't get a chance to watch much football , but from what I am hearing , it sounds like Seattle , Denver , colts , and maybe Pats , have the best chances , close ? Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted December 8, 2013 Super User Posted December 8, 2013 yeah you are pretty much on it except I would personally take out the pats and add in the chiefs and the saints and even though the ravens started out shaky don't count them completely out just yet. Quote
