Super User roadwarrior Posted September 6, 2013 Super User Posted September 6, 2013 "That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." -Neil Armstrong Well, the Road To The Super Bowl started in Denver last night. Peyton Manning set a new standard for a long time master. Seven touchdowns and 462 yards to crush last year's champions, the Baltimore Ravens. Can the Broncos run the table? It's a long season and the only game that really counts is the last game, not the first. This was a great start to open the season. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted September 6, 2013 Super User Posted September 6, 2013 For Bronco Fans that was a Heck of a start ~ I think the Bronco's are very good but the Defending Super Bowl Champs made them look even better. What a surprise - you gut your team and you get blown out. A-Jay 2 Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted September 6, 2013 Super User Posted September 6, 2013 Glad i played peyton manning and not drew brees on my fantasy team....... 2 Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted September 6, 2013 BassResource.com Administrator Posted September 6, 2013 I thought Denver would win, but I didn't expect a blowout, nor did I expect so many basic mistakes by both teams. It was sloppy at best. Too many dumb penalties on both sides too. Entertaining nonetheless. 2 Quote
tgm Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Keep your eye on Welker,He will be Manning's go to guy. Quote
Super User MCS Posted September 6, 2013 Super User Posted September 6, 2013 I watched til half time, it was a sloppy first half and a close game, didn't see that coming. I think the loss of Oher was big, hope he is not out for long or it could be a bad season for the Ravens.I don't think that it demonstrated anything as far as denvers talent, but more of a lack of Baltimores. If they run into a team with better WRs(and they will) and a little more compitent QB they are gonna be on the wrong end of 7 TDs. Peyton has not running game, so if you stop him, you stop their offense. He also got sacked 3 times so keeping him protected is a must the rest of the year. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted September 6, 2013 Super User Posted September 6, 2013 I always thought peyton was slow but man he makes dan marino look mobile. I may be tainted being an eagles fan and having mobile QB pretty much as far back as i can remember but peyton is sloooooooow, well at least from the waist down. Quote

I dislike Peyton Manning, but a QB doesn't need to be mobile when they can throw the ball. When you have a QB who can't throw the ball, he better have wheels (MIke Vick) Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted September 6, 2013 Super User Posted September 6, 2013 "Mobile by choice" QB's (meaning other than scrambling to avoid a sack), Always seem to have a shorter life span than the old slow guys who camp out in the pocket. A-Jay 1 Quote

The ablility to process info, read D, find the open guy, check down, look offs etc....and you can see in Vick vs Manning comparison which will lead to success. Quote
Super User Catt Posted September 6, 2013 Super User Posted September 6, 2013 After the neck surgeries they said Manning would never be the same...guess he aint! 1 Quote

True but you put manning behind the offensive line Vick had for the past year or two and we would be taling about how in 5 years Manning would be a hall of famer....his career would have been over. Style of offense comes in to play a lot too and Manning is a pretty smart guy for sure. 1 Quote
Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted September 7, 2013 Super User Posted September 7, 2013 Awww Denver ain't nothing. They gonna lose out just like they always do. If Harbaugh had not missed that challenge the outcome would have been different. Raiders are going all the way! Just watch as they crush the Ponies super bowl hopes. Raider Nation Til I Die!!! Quote

Is this Chip Kelly business going to be like the wildcat and last a year or maybe it will be like the run and shoot from the oilers back in the day...those teams were pretty successful I do think in this offense and a healthy offensive line that McCoy is going to have a monster year regardless of who is the QB. Super User Redlinerobert Posted September 7, 2013 Super User Posted September 7, 2013 I think the 49ers have a chance to get back in there and win it this year. Quote

Super User flyfisher Posted September 7, 2013 Super User Posted September 7, 2013 theres a good chance the philly offense doesnt huddle all season. Which is fine as long as they don't have a lot of 3 and out series. I am honestly not to worried about the offense scoring, they have about as good of weapons on offense as anyone in the league well maybe not anyone since Maclin is out, but their defense is horrible and now going to a 3-4 has me worried. Cgrinder Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 I just hope Ndamukong Suh doesn't stomp on anyone this year. 3 Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted September 8, 2013 BassResource.com Administrator Posted September 8, 2013 I'm wondering how many injuries the Bears will fake this year when other teams run the no-huddle offense. Anyone care to start a pool? Quote
