For those of you who've seen this movie, I'm sure you've experienced the adrenaline rush I did! Very exciting and well done feat of

movie making. Well, I went online and scouted Amazon.com for any literature which would base the movie in fact.

I certainly found what I was looking for! "The Man-Eaters of Tsavo" is the title of the book, by John Henry Patterson, which is what the movie was based on. Quite a revealing and exciting read, even if it was written around 1900! I got a paper back copy real cheap on Amazon, for less than $5.00 - new!

The real life story of Patterson is even more incredible than the movie! And yes, it does contain details on his "contraption" which was suppose to trap the man-eaters. And in the book, it failed as well. :)

Do you remember Patterson sitting atop the "machan" in the movie, to try to get a shot at the man-eaters? And how an owl swooped down to land on him, almost causing him to fall into the jaws of the lion? Well....that was TRUE! If you are a fan of adventure, you really should get a copy of this very well written book. Goes into details about African fauna, the people and the traditions as well.
