Super User flyfisher Posted September 2, 2013 Super User Posted September 2, 2013 I am not much of a dreamer but i want to be able to provide for my family and live a comfortable life and so far i am there. Anything else is secondary and i have been pretty lucky in being able to travel all over the country to fish, rock climb and backpack. I do have a goal to be a teacher and i just started the process of making it happen. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted September 2, 2013 Super User Posted September 2, 2013 Shortsighted dreams, I want the docs to figure out what's wrong with my arm. The neurosurgeon thinks he knows, I had a 4th mri last week and a follow up this Thursday. Long term, I will do one of 2 things. I will either own a fishing resort, or give up my dreams to make my sons dream come a little easier. 2 Quote

Super User Root beer Posted September 4, 2013 Super User Posted September 4, 2013 I'd like to move to Seattle area; go backpacking and climbing every weekend would be the dream. Colorado be another state, but I think Seattle has better job market. Hopefully I can get the fund and the experience to move out west one day soon. Quote

Super User bigbill Posted September 5, 2013 Super User Posted September 5, 2013 My goals in life, my bucket list, dreams I'm not sure of. Break the state record for LMB it's 12lbs 14ozs my BP so far is 10lbs. I lost two bigger LMB already. The third time is the charm right? To own a bass boat so I can fish with my disability. I would like to make other people with disabilities dreams come true and take them fishing too. We don't have any areas for the disabled to fish at too. I would like to correct this too. Also start a "take a kid fishing program" to help every kid to go fishing. Plus help orphans and troubled kids too. Fishing at an early age helped me stay out of trouble. I'd rather help others fish then help myself. 1 Quote

Plus if she can cook too. My wife is awesome and a very good cook too. She likes to fish and shoot what more can I ask for. She is pretty good looking too. Which any woman is pretty to me. Each woman is unique in there own way God bless there little hearts. She gave me three awesome children too. I am truly blessed. It's not money that makes us rich it's the quality of the people we surround ourselves with and our family. Money and material things mean nothing. Bb My two sons have women who clean fish, bait there own hooks and love fishing. What more can you ask for? 1 Quote

Super User slonezp Posted September 5, 2013 Super User Posted September 5, 2013 That's why I'm a hundredaire! I remember reading here in a thread a long time ago someone saying "I've lost more money chasing women than women chasing money" The problem with most "hot" women is they're used to getting what they want without having to give back. My ol' lady was smokin' hot when I met her in 1996.5'2" and 96lbs and still looks great in her mid 40s. My step daughter is 24 and even more beautiful. They're both frickin nuts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7myjFBwDlIk Quote

JD96 Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 #4 Why on earth do you want to work when your retired? Because I am 16 years old, and I will most likely never see the social security that is deducted out of my checks. I would like to have a small tackle shop or small gun store, nothing full time, and I would just do it for the sake of staying active, an active mind and body stays active. Quote

There are better retirement plans than banking on a small business venture. (Not to mention it is EXPENSIVE) As far as your last quote to my comment, nah that is just a coincidence. The outdoors is the primary reason. Edit: Google image search North Cascade National Park, Olympia National Park, and Mt. Rainer. The pictures along should be enough to get someone to move to Washington for the backpacking and climbing. Colorado probably doesn't have a steady job market unless you're in Denver area. (I mean job market for my area of expertise unless I changed career or something.) Quote

Better to follow the advice given earlier of investing early and often and you won't need the small business. And you will see the social security....it is really the definition of a ponzi scheme. If you don't have any social security then there will be much bigger things to worry about... 1 Quote
