Super User jbsoonerfan Posted October 3, 2013 Super User Posted October 3, 2013 I don't know if Art Briles would leave Baylor, but if Texas opened up the checkbook I bet he would give it serious thought. That would be a good hire I think. Quote
moguy1973 Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 Just gotta say one thing in this thread at this point in the season. The only 4-0 team in the SEC right now that isn't named Alabama is MIZZOU! Too bad that will end soon with SEC play starting soon...lol... Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted October 3, 2013 Super User Posted October 3, 2013 I think Mizzou will surprise a few teams this year. 1 Quote
aquaholic Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 . Not real hard to be the smartest person in a group full of SEC fans. You guys do a pretty good job of proving that point. This is one of the smartest things i've read in this thread. This was when gameday came and setup in front of touchdown jesus (which is a library) 1 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted October 6, 2013 Super User Posted October 6, 2013 Missouri 51 Vanderbilt 28 Missouri is now 5-0 Quote
Super User Sam Posted October 13, 2013 Author Super User Posted October 13, 2013 It was announced that Virginia Tech will play Tennessee in the 165,000 seat Bristol Motor Speedway. This is a game that has been rumored for over five years and it looks like the details are being worked out. One of the details that has already been agreed to is that the requirement for fans to have to wear shoes at the track is being suspended for the Volunteer fans for the game. Other than having the Vol fans go home sad after the game because they have to go back to Tennessee, it looks like the game will be played in the near future. Quote

Super User jbsoonerfan Posted October 13, 2013 Super User Posted October 13, 2013 I bet RW is still celebrating. Losing Franklin was tough though. Quote
preach4bass Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 The SEC just set a record with 8 teams in the top 25. Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted October 14, 2013 Super User Posted October 14, 2013 The SEC just set a record with 8 teams in the top 25. That's amazing!!!!! Just another stat that means absolutely nothing. Quote
preach4bass Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 That's amazing!!!!! Just another stat that means absolutely nothing. ......says the man who has quoted more stats in this thread than anyone else. Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted October 14, 2013 Super User Posted October 14, 2013 ......says the man who has quoted more stats in this thread than anyone else. You better look again. I haven't used any stats to argue why I thought OU was any good. You want some useless stats? Look up the school with the most wins since the BCS started. It's OU, I will save you the hassle. Look up the school with the most 10 win seasons in college football history. It's OU, I will save you the trouble. But in the long run, those stats don't mean squat and that's the reason I never mentioned them. It's SEC fans that tend to break out useless stats that also don't mean squat. Look no further than your post. Who cares how many teams they have in the top 25??????? Alabama is all you guys can hope for to win another NC for the SEC so you guys can sit around like a bunch of deebags chanting "SEC, SEC, SEC" Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted October 14, 2013 Super User Posted October 14, 2013 Oh, here http://bleacherreport.com/articles/522165-power-ranking-the-top-50-college-football-programs-of-all-time/page/51 More useless stats where Bleacher Report named OU as the top college football program of all time Quote
preach4bass Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 First, I'm not an SEC fan, so the "you guys" deal is wrong. Second, I never said you used stats to prove that OU was good. I just said you used a bunch of stats (go back to page 10 to see a few examples). And, I don't think that anyone would argue with you that OU has a great tradition. But, as of today, the SEC is the top conference in college football. That was Sam's intent in starting this thread (before the season began), and his prediction has become obviously true. Obvious to everyone but you I guess. Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted October 14, 2013 Super User Posted October 14, 2013 No, its obvious Alabama is good. Beyond that, nothing special. Quote

Super User Catt Posted October 14, 2013 Super User Posted October 14, 2013 Here we go again Boomer Sooner talking trash after OU chokes. Here's a stat for ya, team with the most chokes in big games...OU! All 8 SEC schools could whip OU You better be glad A&M & Mizzou left or OU would have 3 loses. Name the school who has whooped OU the most...Texas! Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted October 14, 2013 Super User Posted October 14, 2013 Lol! Good thing LSU doesn't play Clemson. OU has more NC's, Conf Champ, Heisman winners, All Americans, 10 win seasons, and total wins when compared to LSU, so I'm not sure why you even bother to argue. Go Bama!!! Lol Quote
Super User Catt Posted October 14, 2013 Super User Posted October 14, 2013 For someone who claims to be only a casual OU fan you can't shut up about...sounds like you're trying to convince yourself OU is relevant in a NC discussion but y'all aint. Texas took care of that! You claim stats are useless but you spit out 2 pages worth! LSU would whip Choke-la-homa again Quote

Super User jbsoonerfan Posted October 14, 2013 Super User Posted October 14, 2013 Never once said OU even stood a chance to win a NC this year. Just as LSU doesn't. Oh yeah, but when Bama wins it, you will somehow claim part of it because LSU plays in the SEC. I always forget about that SEC logic. Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted October 14, 2013 Super User Posted October 14, 2013 Texas hadn't beaten OU since the late 90's Texas beat OU in 05, 06, 08, 09. Remember the Vince Young/Colt McCoy years? I knew OU wasn't as good as people thought. I really expected them to win this game though. I figured Baylor would beat them by 40 on a Thursday night in Waco. I guess that's why they play the game. Quote

That should have said late 00's typo. Reguardless of the win, Texas has been the biggest disappointment of the Big XII for a long time Vegas had OU by a long shot, I actually had money on OU too. Nice try but like OU ya choked LSU is still in the title hunt while OU will be luckly to avoid 2 more losses! Quote
Super User rockchalk06 Posted October 14, 2013 Super User Posted October 14, 2013 Key word there "hadn't" If by my user name or picture you thought I had any love for OU your wrong. I just hated Texas worse Quote
