Brian Needham Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Gustov Von Visor aint going anywhere. Â but the Texas job does fit Nick.....Texas has enough money to buy him and he has a big enough ego to want 3 rings from 3 different schools which has never been done before(i think) it would firmly cement him as best ever Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 12, 2013 Author Super User Posted December 12, 2013 Received an email this AM and here is part of it explaining why Satan is going to Texass from those who say they are in the know.  Disclaimer: I have no idea if this is true or not. But here it is for you to decide.  "In talking to various sources plugged into the Alabama and Texas sides, it seems Nick Saban is roughly $20 million in the hole due to investments with LSU and Alabama alums. These investments are predominantly in the commercial real estate space. For his trouble, Nick Saban is not a happy camper with these two alumni bases and has a hole in his retirement plan that Mark Ingram could run through. Additionally, I'm told Texas and the Longhorn Foundation have "passed the hat" to provide a dollar amount up front that nearly makes Nick Saban whole after these defunct investments. Call it the Lamarr Houston/Roy Miller investment strategy. The mechanism used to fund this "bonus" will be off the books in order to make the total compensation package more politically palatable when it's officially announced. Texas does not want to be perceived as the Yankees and again, I don't want to help negotiations with enemy."  Stay tuned, sports fans. Quote

Super User Root beer Posted December 12, 2013 Super User Posted December 12, 2013 How delusional are you? How boring is your life? That story sounds like it was made up by the dude who Jeremy Hills punched in back of the head. How in the world does a football coach gets $20 million in debt with ALUMS over real estate? Obviously you're not freaking kidding me, so let me ask you this: WHAT DRUG(S) ARE YOU TAKING?!??!!?!? I wanna test that drug(s) myself!  I don't care if Saban leave for whatever, but the senseless accusation to amuse rival fan bases who have been butt hurted in the past by Saban is hilarious and idiotic.  I found it extremely interesting that last year Saban turned down a job to stay at 'Bama. Then when those ****** from Texas were tired of losing they started the Saban-to-Texas-rumor. Then Ol' Mack started winning until he met Baylor. Now, it started again.. It only a game, guys, jeez. Super User Sam Posted December 12, 2013 Author Super User Posted December 12, 2013 Root Beer, get the Kool Aid ready.  First, Satan blows the SEC Championship game.  Second, he says he is never leaving Bamasux.  Third, his wife says she was shopping for a summer home in Austin, the best place to have a summer home in the nation.  No doubt, he is gone. He said the magic words: "I am not leaving Alabama."  Sounds like "I am not leaving LSU." "I am not leaving the Dolphins."  Stay tuned. We will see for sure if he stays or leaves. Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 12, 2013 Author Super User Posted December 12, 2013 Root Beer, latest from your buddies at Awbunn:  Some could theorize Bama is leaking this because either way it makes them look better. If Saban is gone then folks will think he passed on a good faith effort to retain him.   Per some guy on auburnsports... Turds just got screwed by Sexton..$35 million 4 year deal with 2 year option for another $20m. Look for the official release later tonight (said the 2 yr extension option accounts for inflation over the next 6 years)  What flavor Kool Aid do you like? I think the Awbunn fans will be having Kool Aid stands all over the state. Quote

Super User jbsoonerfan Posted December 12, 2013 Super User Posted December 12, 2013 Saban doesn't owe Alabama anything. Why should he stay? He put LSU on the football map and moved on. He brought Alabama back from the dead and made them the team to beat. I think both of those programs owe more to him for thier success than anything else. Why shouldn't he go to Texas and try his hand at winning a NC there and becoming the first to win one at 3 different schools? He could prove he is one of, if not the best coach in college football history. If Bama wants to stay at the top they better come up with some major coin to keep him there. If not, I don't blame him for leaving. Quote

Something needs to change. Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted December 12, 2013 Super User Posted December 12, 2013 It's also sad that these coaches recruit and promise players the world, then when they get an offer for a penny more than they are making, they scram and leave KIDS who look up to them in the dust. Quote

Too many kids are struggling financially to pay for school and they want to be there. if NCAA changes rules where athletes on full-ride scholarship, the college's health insurance plans, etc., can receive more financial benefit in addition to all that then I'll never watch college sports again. I know you are trying to be factitious, but Michigan bought Rich Rodriguez's contact while he was at WVU, if memory serves it was close to 9 million. It was in 2007, that slimy sob left town in the middle of the night after throwing the game at Pitt and costing WVU a shot at the national title. He didn't even stay to coach the bowl game, Fiesta bowl, we won but ended up around 9th in the BCS that year. Quote
Super User Root beer Posted December 13, 2013 Super User Posted December 13, 2013 The point was that it's easy for some radio show hosts, or opinion column writers to name a "source" and make something up.... But getting vast entertainment surrounding rumors over amateur sports? You need find something better in life. Just my 2 cents. Quote

Did you know that recently the real estate market crashed for everyone? In some areas it still haven't quite recover.. For instance, I have never heard of this lake until the auction of this piece of estate came to light... So a property being sold below its value is totally unheard of and the originator being a poor investor is unheard of? Heck, even the great Warren Buffett has lost a lot of money on sour investmentS. He lost billions on ConocoPhillips... I'm not in anyway defending Saban and claiming he is staying, but this constant attack on him is so amusing and irrational. Quote

Stop being dense. Note that in your post you asked: "How in the world does a football coach gets $20 million in debt with ALUMS over real estate"  You seem capable of answering this one yourself: Invest in high end real estate and commercial real estate circa 2007-2008. I provided a link to the most commonly known instance, but what isn't exactly hard to deduce is that someone doesn't invest nearly multiple millions of dollars in their first real estate deal. Furthermore, you don't make money off of real estate investments by sitting on the property. So yea, I call that a terrible real estate decision. Quote
Super User Root beer Posted December 13, 2013 Super User Posted December 13, 2013 Oh, my god!!!! Didn't the article stated one of the person noted it was the highest auction in that area?!?!?!?! So how about looking into that before calling him a poor investor? Maybe his attempt wasn't being an investor... Some people buy things and realize it's not for them........ Just saying.. Quote
