Super User South FLA Posted August 31, 2013 Super User Posted August 31, 2013 Bama will be tough to beat with Sab(t)an at the helm The rest of the SEC is a Powerhouse, but what goes up must come down and I hope it is soon. In my book the best coach in the SEC is still "the coach" in Steve, he does MUCH MUCH more with much less talent. So I would love to see a Bama vs. SC in the SEC championship. The rest of the college football conferences have not a chance against even middle of the pack SEC teams like the DAWGS, Texas A&M,or even I hate to say this the GATORS! Now for the rest of the contenders/pretenders for BCS Championship in order: 1. Ohio State (too bad last year they were not eligible, very weak schedule) 2. Oregon (Again very weak schedule) 3 or 4. FSU or Clemson (Won't be there in the end because they play SEC teams outside of weak conference schedule, FSU has the better chance to be ACC Champion) Final Prediction Alabama vs. Oregon in BCS Championship game 1 Quote
SDoolittle Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 The rest of the SEC is a Powerhouse. Yeah, Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri, Auburn, Arkansas, and Ole Miss are some real powerhouse teams. The combined records of those six teams was 26-47 in 2012. Give me a break. Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted August 31, 2013 Super User Posted August 31, 2013 Arkansas didnt have a coach last year. Seasons before that were 11-2, 10-3 respectively...... WPS Quote

You are right I should have been more specific and said that at least 6 maybe 7 of the 14 total teams will be top 25 BCS teams by the end of the season. Name me another conference that will have at least .428 batting averaging of being in the top 25 by seasons end, I can't think of any? All conferences are going to have mediocre and bottom of the barrel teams, unfortunately the SEC has less of them. By the way I am a HUGE FSU fan and alumnus and wish the ACC was as powerful and dominate as the SEC. Quote
Super User Catt Posted August 31, 2013 Super User Posted August 31, 2013 As per Vegas, odds on favorites to win the BCS, SEC has 6 of the top 15! Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Texas A&M, South Carolina, & Florida. Sam you forgot ULM vs Choke-la-homa 1 Quote

Super User Sam Posted August 31, 2013 Author Super User Posted August 31, 2013 Yep. Looks like everyone is picking the Booners to make Pickens happy. But the big headline is: THE BIG TEN IS A JOKE And the article can start....Cinncy defeated Purdue 42-7...... Enough said. Quote
Super User Chris at Tech Posted August 31, 2013 Super User Posted August 31, 2013 Got a feeling TCU leaves Louisiana with a win tonight... 2 Quote

Ima Bass Ninja Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Clemson will drop another sec teams today. We may just have to start calling them the giant killers as they have already showed who the real tigers are and that the real Death Valley is in good ole SC. That killer weed that you're smoking... well, I want some. Another top ten SEC team goes down at the hands of my tigers!! Guess we better make room in the graveyard for another tombstone. Quote
sbfishySC Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 My Tigers beating a team in the almighty SEC super conference with Gods on every team? Couldn't possibly happen.....38-35. Best game I've been to since 2005-2006 in Death Valley. GO TIGERS!!!! Quote
Super User Sam Posted September 1, 2013 Author Super User Posted September 1, 2013 Yes! Clepson did a good job of getting lucky again. When Jawja screwed that easy field goal it changed the completion of the game. A one point win over LSU and a hold them off win over Jawja and the fans go nuts. Give it time and let's see if the Clepson Tigers choke again this year as they do every year. Quote
Super User South FLA Posted September 1, 2013 Super User Posted September 1, 2013 Clemson is now a solid 3rd place pretender behind Ohio State and Oregon, to meet Bama in the BCS title game. I really hope my Noles can upset the Tigers and somehow manage not to screw up their easy schedule with the one exception of the Gators. I feel for you Georgia fans since Spurrier is going to lay the smack down on the good ole' DAWGS next weekend. 1 Quote

Aww Sam don't be mad..Clemson has played more Sec teams the last 3 games than any other school and we won 2 outta 3..that's not luck my friend , that's confirmation that the Sec pedestal isn't quite so high these days. Doesn't matter how or how much you win by, what matters is you have more points than the other team. We didn't "get lucky" at all, we played with a passion and put everything on the field to win that game. We didn't win because UGA "lost the game" we won because we won the game! And clearly you have forgotten how much it took for clemson to EARN those points to beat LSU. One point, 100 points, a win is a win. 1 Quote

preach4bass Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 9 what? 9 National Championships. Quote
38 Super Fan Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 If ohio state would of been eligible last year, alabama wouldnt of been in the bcs title game. This is the year the sec goes down. I'm a Buckeyes fan, and I'm as sick of the SEC as anybody, but you have to be a realist. OSU wouldn't have a chance against any of the top SEC teams, and they've proved that twice in national championship games. I hope the SEC goes down this year, but I don't see it happening, nobody out there is good enough to dethrone the top SEC teams. 1 Quote
SDoolittle Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 9 National Championships. You might want to recount. Quote

Super User Sam Posted September 1, 2013 Author Super User Posted September 1, 2013 The sad part of opening day is that the SEC bottom dwellers showed us why they are bottom dwellers. MissySippy State, Kensucky and Vandy all lost which is embarrassing to the conference. At least they play some decent basketball. Quote
SDoolittle Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 OSU wouldn't have a chance against any of the top SEC teams, and they've proved that twice in national championship games. There isn't one player on that team that has ever lost a national championship game. Don't hold the failures of the 2006 and 2007 Buckeyes against the 2014 team. Quote
