bassbum85 Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 What is the best knot to use when tying on crankbaits both lipped and lipless as well as swimbaits. I have just been using the palomar for everything Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted August 9, 2010 Super User Posted August 9, 2010 Palomar onto a snap like a duo-lock for cranks and lipless cranks. I tie directly to swimbaits with a palomar. Quote
whoopbazz Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 I once saw Rick Clunn tie a knot specifically for a crankbait. The body of the knot was like 2" up the line from the crankbait...the bait "hung by a loop". He said it was so the bait had more movement. Quote

I use a clinch knot and never have problems. Sometimes I do a palomar, but I do a lot of fishing in the dark and the clinch is much easier for me. Quote
Gangley Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 depends on if there is a ring or not attached to the lure. if there is a ring, i tie a palomar directly to the ring, but if no ring is present, then i tie a rapala knot. Quote
