Bassfisherman94 Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 What are some good swim jig trailers? I have been using the rage craw jr. but I want something a little bulkier. Are shad shaped trailers better than craw shaped? Thanks! Quote
Super User Shane J Posted August 27, 2013 Super User Posted August 27, 2013 The one you're using has been my favorite. Quote
whakx Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 I like to use rage tail shellcrackers and menace grubs. Also if you search this forum for swim jig trailers you will find a ton of information on them! 2 Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Lately I've pretty much switched to a Menace for swim jigs. 1 Quote
Super User bigbill Posted August 27, 2013 Super User Posted August 27, 2013 I been using lately the mister twister 4" split double tail grubs for all my trailers on all my lures. There bulkier and look alive like there actually swimming. They look awesome in the water. The bass like it too. On my mini & micro spinnerbaits it's the mister twister 2" split double tail grubs as trailers. They offer these in there discounted section. Quote
UWBass Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Net bait paca chunks and senior paca chunks or keitech swing impacts. Don't need anything else! Quote
Super User rockchalk06 Posted August 27, 2013 Super User Posted August 27, 2013 My favorite is the Berkley Havoc Subwoofer. So far that has been the biggest producer. It matches every North Star Jig I have. I really like the Rage Tail Menace and Shell Cracker too. Both have tons of action. Quote

Mr_Scrogg Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Skinny Dippers/Little Dippers are nice. Im going to try some Rage Tails though. Seems like there are times when they want a thump of a dipper and when they want the subtleness of a grub Quote
JD96 Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Zoom paddletail superflukes. Craw jigs are for imitating craws, and look nothing like a fish to me. My favorite part about the flukes as a swim jig trailer are A: The side to side wobble they give the bait B: The price C: Bluegill don't have claws for tails Quote
dwtaylor Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Just don't use the strike king menace grub, they are terrible...no action whatsoever...just run away as far as possible. But for real, they are amazing swim jig trailers. I have eaten up about 10 bags of them this year so far...well not me, the bass. Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted August 28, 2013 Super User Posted August 28, 2013 I prefer subwoofers and rage craws. Both produce equally well but the subwoofers, albeit barely, seem to be a little more durable. The trailer doesn't need to imitate a fish. the action of the trailer is more important on a swim jig. Mr_Scrogg Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 One thing I don't like about the Swimming Flukes from Zoom is that they are split down the belly. If you catch a few fish with them, or if you are experiencing short strikes, you can't bite the head off and reuse it/Shorten it up. There isn't alot there to hold it on the hook/keeper. The Dippers have a bit more body to them. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted August 28, 2013 Super User Posted August 28, 2013 Keitech Swing Impact...I am a believer. Quote
Super User Montanaro Posted August 28, 2013 Super User Posted August 28, 2013 i use twin tail menace. not the best action as the tails seem to impede each other. Quote
MrSwimJig Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 I really like Reaction Innovations Skinny Dipper, Berkley Subwoofer and Kinami 4 inch single tail grubs as well. Quote
Amarley Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Skinny dippers, little dippers, twin tail grubs of various brands Quote
Drewski73 Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 i use twin tail menace. not the best action as the tails seem to impede each other. You are breaking the two tails apart out of the package right? Are you rigging them with the tails horizontal? I use them and they flutter independently really well for me. Quote
BuckMaxx Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Big white smoke or clear grub for shad trailers. Craw of some sort for craw jigs. Quote
