Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted August 27, 2013 Super User Posted August 27, 2013 Believe I'm gonna pass on that one. Half the times the ones around here can't even get a regular order correct. I'm dang sure not gonna let them ruin chicken wings for me. Quote

Besides what are wings without beer and they don't serve beer........now maybe if they started serving beer at the drive thru I would take a gamble 1 Quote

Super User MCS Posted August 28, 2013 Super User Posted August 28, 2013 Taking a gamble is eating at Mcdonalds. Double cheese burger, small fry, sweet tea and chicken biscuit are all safe. I don't venture from that.....their sausage and hash brown are from the devil....burns like hell on the return. 1 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted August 28, 2013 Super User Posted August 28, 2013 If their wings are anything like McNuggets I think I will pass. Quote
Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted August 28, 2013 Super User Posted August 28, 2013 If their wings are anything like McNuggets I think I will pass. Probably the same. Last time I got McNuggets two of them had bones in them. About an inch and a half long and 1/16 of an inch thick. Kinda ruined nuggets for me. So I imagine the wings wouldn't be to much of a stretch. derekxec Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 people get nasty...i dropped lettuce and onions and such on the ground sometimes on accident and the manager even would come and put it back in the bin and serve it..the oil they use gets old fast and they use it for weeks before changing...no one washes their hands lol (i always did correctly because im not nasty like this lol if someone did to me i would go in and stomp them and there is no need to be nasty anyway) i got switched between 3 diff stores and all had these same problems...when i was working there the managers were only making 20 cents more per hour than me lol and i worked the grill and quit after a couple months so they dont do the best job...my friend was a manager and the only one i seen that didnt do nasty stuff (thats how i got the job) and he was happier than a pig in ***** to get a 5 cent per hour raise lol..he was making 20 cents more per hour than me and he was working there 3 years before me also i would say the bathrooms are probably cleaner than the kitchen lol...although the walk in freezers were kept surprisingly clean for everything else being dirty Quote

I did service work in many different restaurants. Above the ceilings is almost as bad if not worse than below them. Heaven forbid you have to get underneath the prep tables. We were replacing a thermostat on a refrigerated prep station at a Wendys. While checking the voltage coming into the thermostat one of the test leads grounded to the side of the box. It let loose one hell of an arc. Which in turn set all the grease congealed and spattered all over the track down there on fire. We extinguished the fire within ten seconds of it starting. However it still scared the hell out of us. 1 Quote

Darn sparky's touching things they shouldn't. Go pull some wire and let the pros handle the rest. Most restaurants kitchens have a lot to be desired. I've worked in them for over 15 years, from mom and pop to national chains, from $2 hot dogs to $100 a plate joints. The cleanliness, and maintenance of a kitchen is 100% directly related to the management. The biggest problem with commercial kitchen upkeep is it removes money from the managements pocket. Most receive bonuses based on P&L, and next to labor and food costs, maintenance and repair is the largest chunk of money restaurants spend. Another issue with corporate restaurants, is the managers juggle their budgets around. They spend all their annual budget when they have it and as the fiscal year comes to an end equipment is neglected because there is no money left. Corporate owned fast food chains are probably the cleanest of the bunch and Chinese, the dirtiest. I've probably said too much. Bon Appetite Quote
