He should not have tried to help if he didn't know what he was doing, but it is not worth getting the guy in trouble or possibly fired over. Lesson learned. Always do it yourself! BTW- I am too embarrassed to send it back to Kershaw for warranty. Can you imagine what they would think when they saw this thing???? Jeff 4

Hopefully he doesnt ruin someone's passed down knife or irreplaceable knife. Keeping quiet is not always the best option. If you want to be a gentlemen then call them up or stop in and tell them what happened, tell them you want nothing in return and don't want the worker to be punished. But just keeping quiet until he ruins someone else's knife is not the thing to do. 2

That's why myself and the 55 year old man that sharpens my Damascus kitchen knives are the only ones to touch ANY of my knives.

Told him I wanted nothing from it, but to warn him of letting said employee sharpen any others knives. Whether or not he does anything about it is in his court now, but he didn't even ask me to bring it by to see the damages. Jeff
fadetoblack21 Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 That sucks man. I own a few Kershaw knives and I love them. I would ticked if someone did this to my knife. This is why I always sharpen my own. Of course, I dont buy serrated blades for the most part so this wouldn't be a problem for me.

I've been thinking about trying one but I cant decide if I want the half serrated or the plain blade. Do you like the half serrated or if you had to do it again would you go plain blade?

You did the right thing warning others and management about the negligence. Things like this need to happen more often besides being swept under the rug so it's someone elses problem.

I have had about 6 different ones but the blackout is my favorite. Check fleabay. There is a guy who sells seconds for cheap. They have XXX on the blade.

RAMBLER Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 From the employee's comments about getting the nicks out of this particular brand of knife, I would say that he knew exactly what he was doing, thought it was funny and has done it before. From the manager's lack of interest, I would also think that there is a relationship, of some kind, i.e., brother-in-law, etc. I would definitely let the big BPS in the sky know about this.

If he cant do the job then they should move him to another position. At my job, there are people just like that. Do I want them fired? No, but get them to a position where they can thrive and not cost the business money. 1

Malicisouly trying to damage property. That made me lol. So I just saw pictures of the knife. I don't see anything wrong with it.
