Super User South FLA Posted August 22, 2013 Super User Posted August 22, 2013 Just pay the guy or better yet make a $1 million dollar charitable contribution to the gentleman's charity of choice. Quote
Super User Darren. Posted August 23, 2013 Super User Posted August 23, 2013 That's a major bummer. If all the gear used was documented and "legit", they should pay him the winnings fair and square. Too bad expensive lawyers have to get involved. Quote
s freud Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 The debate seems to hinge on if a spinnerbait is cosidered to have a "spreader bar" Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted August 24, 2013 Super User Posted August 24, 2013 It is a d**n shame. Talk about turning a dream into a nightmare of sorts. I would certainly feel robbed. Quote
Jack Fate Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Whats kinda funny to me is a guy broke the world record here in AL this past year. His was 70+ lbs. He was using Mustad hooks as well, but he had not signed up for the contest. You don't hear him crying Quote

Black Knight Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 The IGFA should also have to pay his attorney's fee if they lose the case. Quote
Brian Needham Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 the IGFA is actually in the right here, in principle. it is the Arkansas Game and Fish that is the problem, they never got off their ass to certify the weight, unless the state does their job the international body cant do anything. in fact the "spreader bar" case is moot, until the weight is settled. The IGFA, I suppose is trying to just nip it by says "weight wouldn't matter anyway since the lure aint sanctioned" sucks, and sad but true. I feel for the guy, but aint much the guy can do, until the AGFC stamps it. Quote
0119 Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 The IGFA is a fraternity of the highest upper class and most certainly will have access to a legal staff that will squash this poor guy at their first response to the letter of intent. Too bad, what a great fish, he earned it. Quote
