I use a Curado 200E7. Great drag and ipt to get them in quick. The reel is a flat out work horse.

i have actually been looking at all those reels you guys have mentioned on *** i just wasnt sure if i need one with a bigger spool cause of the braid or just a normal spool be ok. and yes i need tight drag thats how i lost a big one already this year in the grass i had my drag lose and it threw the frog. i figure theres no need spend 300 on a reel cause its not all year i throw frogs although i do almost 6 months of a year.

I'm a Shimano lover, but with that being said, if I was going to set up a frogging rod, I would look hard at the lews super duty, shimano doesn't have the drag lews does, and with the constant reeling and torqueing a frog reel will do, it seems like a fitting reel. "super duty" Other than that, a used Curado 200E7 is solid, or a new G7 which isn't as good as the E series.

A high speed reel for sure. The 200e7 is a great choice. Although the Tatula has got my eye at the moment.

Abput shimano drags. Changing over to lews isnt justified just for the drags imho. Drags are cheap. I could pm you a reel tech that can fit shimano salt water reel drags in a 200e7. My drag strength is far above even a carbontex. Same price too

I'm not saying that I would make the switch, but it would be worth a thought, a frogging rod works really hard reeling and reeling all its life so a product called super duty gets my attention, maybe it's just their advertising though, I do some frogging with my 200e7 with no issues, reels 'em in like nothing.

But I don't know if it'd be the reel I'd subject to that sort of use all the time.

Drag pressure is a selling point IMO.  I have flipped and frogged heavy pads with a zillion which only has about 8.8 lbs.  Lots of great choices at that price point and I have owned most of them lol.

Super Duty advantages are the longer handle, high capacity spool and brass gearing.  I use this and a Zillion Type R

Tournament MG a money reel.  Long handle, smooth casting

Curado E7 is a tough reel with large knobs and a set it and forget it braking system

Generation 3 STX is light which may be a detriment for such a long rod as it won't balance.  Short handle (80mm) I believe.
