Super User jbsoonerfan Posted September 6, 2013 Super User Posted September 6, 2013 I was a season ticket holder before Stoops came along. I have seen some BAD football on Owen Field. I probably used the term WE when I was a kid because I really didn't know any better. Now that I am grown up I see how silly that term sounds when thrown around like someone is somehow apart of the team. Usually by overweight middle aged drunk guys who played a little bit of football in High School. The same guys that think they can coach better than the head coach. You aren't gonna hurt my feelings talking bad about OU. SEC fans are the only ones I know who get their feelings hurt when you say something bad about their team (or conference) but those are the same ones that use the term "we" Quote
Super User Catt Posted September 6, 2013 Author Super User Posted September 6, 2013 With out fans there is no team! I bleed Purple & Gold on Saturday & Black & Gold on Sunday! Quote
sbfishySC Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Die hard Clemson fan, born and raised. While I am a student at Clemson, even when I wasn't, if you wear that orange, you are a part of the Clemson family. Saying "we" is common practice. Whether we are a part of the football team or not, we are still a part of the Clemson family. I've said we all my life so far and I'll continue to say we until the day I die. What you should of done was argued how irrelevant lsu was up until Saban arrived in Baton Rouge. They were god awful. In fact, I could pick out handful of us on bass resource and we would beat any team lsu ever fielded upon saban's arrival. They were horrible. Good lord. I rather live in communist state than root for lsu. 1 Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted September 7, 2013 Super User Posted September 7, 2013 The ACC must be INCREDIBLE!!!!!!! LOL Quote
Ima Bass Ninja Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Another ranked SEC team falls to the mighty ACC. Way to go Miami!! 2 Quote
Super User South FLA Posted September 7, 2013 Super User Posted September 7, 2013 What goes up, must come down! When I was a kid it was Miami, FSU, Oklahoma, and Nebraska. Recently its been dominated by Florida and Bama. If you are a realist, then you will realize that although the SEC is the ruling conference now its not out of the question, to have an Ohio State, a Florida State/Clemson, or even a Oregon have a run for a couple of years, simply look at the recruiting class history and quality of coaches. So what will be the next "hot conference?" I can make an argument for the ACC with teams like Clemson, FSU, and Miami. FSU and Miami have a huge advantage not because of their conference power, but simply because of them being located in Florida. According to Rivals/Bleacher etc. Florida has more talented recruits than any other state! So Sab(t)an better enjoy his reign because if UM or FSU gets their glory back, guess where most of the 12-17 year old kids that live in FLORIDA are going to go? Quote
Super User Catt Posted September 8, 2013 Author Super User Posted September 8, 2013 Florida - Miami - Florida St is like a box of chocolates...you don't know what you'll. Canes & Noles are some of the best games ever Don't count the SEC out yet! 2012 started the same but Clemson & the Noles died by midseason. Quote

Canes & Noles are some of the best games ever Don't count the SEC out yet! 2012 started the same but Clemson & the Noles died by midseason. I really only see Bama being the BCS contender in the SEC, since the rest of the SEC is going to knock themselves out. I expected SC to beat GA, but rivalry games are tough. Ohio State and Oregon have a red carpet laid out for them. Clemson and FSU unfortunately have to play each other and FSU still has to play the Gators and the upcoming Canes. Clemson also has to play Spurrier at the end of the year. So Catt you have to respect the strength of schedule of FSU, Clemson, and Miami, more than Ohio State and Oregon and the rest of the pretenders from the North and West! Quote
Super User Catt Posted September 8, 2013 Author Super User Posted September 8, 2013 Oh I respect them but I also know 1 & they are done! In the SEC watch LSU, Bama, & A&M Oregon plays no one with a real defense Ohio St is a threat because Urban knows what it takes to beat the SEC. Clemson is the dark horse! Quote

Super User Chris at Tech Posted September 12, 2013 Super User Posted September 12, 2013 Not to mention the "issues" recently raised at OK State at the time when Les Miles was at the helm. Quote
Super User Catt Posted September 13, 2013 Author Super User Posted September 13, 2013 Yea we know it only happens in the SEC! Go OSU Quote
aquaholic Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 I love the excuse that other people are doing it, that of course makes it ok. Lets not forget that les miles is right there in the mix of the osu scandal. How many national championships will osu be vacating if this is all proven? Quote
Super User Catt Posted September 13, 2013 Author Super User Posted September 13, 2013 Aquaholic Name me one college in America that has never been under investigation by the NCAA? Do you know how many ongoing investigations the NCAA has as of 09\13\13? Ya can't beat the SEC so ya try to find dirt & act like your team is innocent! Quote
aquaholic Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Aquaholic Name me one college in America that has never been under investigation by the NCAA? Do you know how many ongoing investigations the NCAA has as of 09\13\13? Ya can't beat the SEC so ya try to find dirt & act like your team is innocent! Show me where i said only sec schools have been investigated? Do you even know how many ongoing investigations are going on right now? Violations are pretty common and arent always new worthy. However an investigation that could take away a crystal ball is pretty substantial. But by all means continue saying no one can beat the sec. We will just sweep the big name sec teams getting beat by acc teams this year under the rug. Not to mention unranked Texas Tech held TCU to less points than even the mighty LSU could. You can bet after tomorrow either alabama or t a&m will be favored to win the bcs ncg. But in reality the sec is pretty weak this year. Georgia is the best team in the sec as of now. Quote
GaBankFisher Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Yeah, but the SEC is still WAY better than all of the other conferences. Quote
Super User Chris at Tech Posted September 13, 2013 Super User Posted September 13, 2013 All I'm saying is that the ACC and the SEC both have the same number of representatives in this All Star game (counting Louisville and Syracuse) for the ACC Is the SEC really better? http://extramustard.si.com/2013/09/13/key-peele-east-west-bowl-video-exclusive/ Quote
Ima Bass Ninja Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Lets face it the Sec has 3-4 good teams bama,a&m, lsu so far come to mind with Georgia looking to rebound. SC and gators are slipping to more of a upper middle of the pack teams. LSU still needs to prove itself and even though i love me some horned frogs, i don't think thats a great test of strength for LSU. The ACC has 2-3 good teams with Clemson and FSU. FSU freshman qb has yet to be tested so we will have to see how they handle big games. Miami looks like it may be up and coming of the win over Florida. The SEC has a legit reason to feel superior base on one fact. They consistently win non-conferance games! I hate to admit that part but its just true. Does that mean that a SEC team like Kentucky or Tennessee can beat Clemson or Oregon consistently? Heck no! The ONLY way to knock the SEC off its high horse is to start beating them in non conferance games. I do believe however that the ACC is the SEC's biggest threat conferance wise to take over. Quote
Super User Sam Posted September 14, 2013 Super User Posted September 14, 2013 From my Cajun friend in Louisiana that does not like Les Miles: SI Story beginning to fall apart per ESPN... Wow...well, if I owe apologies to anyone for defending the rep of SI, I give them now. This is downright shocking...not even a barebones check on some major facts about the primary guys spouting off. Destroys the credibility of the article. What a poor effort from a premier magazine. Link: http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/9665724/documents-undermine-some-oklahoma-state-cowboys-accusers Did anyone else notice that the one and only Dexter Pratt - former Navasota, Texas athlete/running back that at one time was committed to LSU - was quoted in the SI article(s) and is mentioned in this ESPN article? He was the kid that showed up for Spring camp and could not be admitted into school because he had not been cleared by the Clearinghouse. He went back home and then committed to and signed with OK State. He was allegedly ticked with Miles and LSU, even though it was his own fault. He was arrested multiple times for possession of Mary Jane and eventually "left" the OK State football team. This is one of Sports Illustrated's credible sources. You think he has an axe to grind with Miles? This is downright shocking...not even a barebones check on some major facts about the primary guys spouting off. Destroys the credibility of the article. What a poor effort from a premier magazine. Only the swimsuit edition his credible. They do a better job covering ice skating and sailing. Quote
