burce Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 I had the same problem the first time I used mine, he came off pretty quickly. Then I got snagged on high grass and lost it : ( its retrievable though I just haven't gotten it yet lol Quote
Gorgebassman Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 I am no sure this will help but for me with my spro bronze eye frogs I bend the hooks out away from the body a little bit and has increased my hookup immensely. Quote
rowyourboat Posted August 4, 2010 Author Posted August 4, 2010 i lost like 5 fish this evening and 3 of em were 5+..... so i gota figure this out haha Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Take out the hook and put in a bigger one and bend the hooks away from the body. Quote
bassin is addicting Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 might sound crazy.....but, depending on the cover you're fishing...put on a trailer hook...or 2. i don't do it often. but have tried it and it works. but there wasn't much weeds/etc to foul it up. just a suggestion. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 I use Spro Frogs, so Im not real sure about the Scumfrog, but I just take the hook out and bring it to a tackle shop and find a hook one size bigger. Quote

Crankbait_Kid Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 I dont have experience with the scum frog but I have had the same experience with Bronze Eye frogs. I was about to give up on frogs but then tried the Spro Popping frog. The bait does not have to be modified and hooks up big time. You still miss fish but not like with the Bronze Eye. The Popping frog casts a mile and walks very easily, not as subtle as the Bronze Eye but way higher hooking ratio. Quote
Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted August 5, 2010 Super User Posted August 5, 2010 I used both bronzeye & bigfoot this past monday and though I got strikes on both, no catches, I got more stikes on the bronzeye. Both were green. Ive yet to catch anything on the bigfoot after 4 outings amounting to 3hrs of use. Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted August 5, 2010 Super User Posted August 5, 2010 Make sure your using braid and a stiff graphite rod with heavy action. Quote
