Hey guys, I'm thinking about getting a 7'3 MH Abu Garcia Veritas rod for my jigs because I've heard it's sensitive. I'm on a budget and don't want to spend more than $100 on a rod. Does any one suggest this rod or have any other suggestions?

*** *** Black or Shimano Compre if you're buying new. If you're willing to buy secondhand, Shimano Crucials can be found for $100. If you're lucky, you can find St. Croix Avids around the $100 mark.

I personally do not buy Veritas rods, but they are popular.

I have a 7' mh casting rod and so far so good for about 2-3 months of solid fishing. And even some saltwater bass fishing. Very lightweight and good backbone. The rod's very sensitive. I can feel everything. Exposed reel seat is nice.

I have 2 Veritas and like them, but for under $100 I would go with the Kistler Carbon Steel. When I switch between the Veritas and the Kistler, the Veritas just cant compare. Not saying the Veritas wouldn't be a good choice, I just prefer the Kistler at that price point.
