Lets Play Weigh That Fish!

Alright guys my scale came in. Can someone tell me how to properly weigh the fish with out causing it any damage?  Do you have to find a hole in the mouth, or is it ok to slide it up the gill?

Outside of the gills is fine, be sure you do not go between any gills!

judging by the the size of your hand compared to the size of the fish i'd say about 3-3 1/2
