I have seen those reels on ebay for years now, and they do have a cool look to them, I just couldn't muster up the nuts to buy one.

If you did, we could refer to you as Mustard Nuts

I just ordered another one, plus three spinning reels too.

I'll see if I can get my pics working.

With shipping it was $30. There marked now at $29.00 + $5 ship.

I see the lures from China aren't 5 fer & 4 fer $4 or $5 anymore with some of them are $4 each.

I hope it turns out well for you but If I were you I would test the reel that you just received for at least 3 months before even thinking of buying more.

Just because it looks nice and cheap does not mean it would be a good investment.

Be a smart buyer.  Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.

I still have four other baitcasters. I enjoy testing different stuff even lures too. I don't drink or gamble plus I just beat prostate cancer too. I just need something to do and keep me busy. My credit card just came I spent $3,400 on fishing equipment this month. I bought some discontinued lures in my favorite colors that are my go to lures. They always work. Plus a ton of mister twister senko type plastic in all colors to stock up on them while there cheap. This $9 per lure or plastic just kills me. I get the mister twister comidas(there senko for $1.50 with no $29 ship kidding)I keep fishing very affordable. I give stuff to kids too. My radiation tech the gal takes kids fishing so I gave her lures too. I need to see if she needs rods and reels for the kids. I'm not a pro but I enjoyed fishing since I was 6yo and at 62yo now I want to give something back.

He eventually got banned from his own discovery. You implying something

No not at all I meant he took a chance that's all.

I mean take a chance it's only $30. Before my weight loss $30 was a lunch. But I did the work if two people carrying 250lb steel rails alone. I would lift 400lb parts and put them on the machine. I ate like two people. My dad told me a man should be able to lift more than his own weight. I was lifting 100lbs more than my weight. One of those Italian loaves of bread made into a grinder was my lunch.

I just do not understand how someone could put someone else down by telling him the reel he bought is crap, or won't hold up, or was not worth the money when they have never been within a mile of one and probably never even heard of them until this post came up.

I hope when newbies are asking questions those type of people who have never tried the products arent chiming in their unfounded opinions of stuff they have never seen in person.

I think some people on here just like to post and will throw their unfounded opinions out whenever they can.

after nearly 60 years it's called been there done that!!! you will to some day???

That is only recent (2013), before that we (ebay sellers) could list an item for $0.99 and $40 shipping and only get charged 12% on the $0.99. Of course it was against ebay policy, but we still did it. Then they started charging fees on shipping as well. I'd guess the seller has had them listed for a long time and just didnt convert it over until now. Ebay buyers were probably giving them low ratings on shipping costs and that drove them to switch it around.

Besides that, I don't see a reason he would have it listed the way he did. Maybe to avoid some sort of chinese tax on profit? Write it off as shipping expense instead of profit.

WE ??????? did that!!

Man time flies. It was really 2 years ago? seems like it was sooner than that.

I don't agree with those sellers that try and trick buyers, that is not cool at all. I am always honest and will usually list as free shipping just to make it easier on buyers.

OH REALLY??????  I think most would understand if you only told one story per thread!!!

I can see why you are getting aggravated that people are giving you crap about buying a cheaper product, and I will never do it, because it is up to buyer to determine what he is willing to spend and what makes him happy. Everyone's situation is different.

The problem I do have with this thread, is you are pretty much doing exactly what you are complaining about and looking down on people that spend a lot more on their fishing stuff. 99 times out of a 100, a $50 reel would never compete in overall quality with a $200+ reel. If you really think the only difference between a brand new  $25,000 Harley and 1972 Suzuki is price and prestige , then you have never owned an expensive product in your life to appreciate what higher quality is, which is fine if you are ok with that.

Cheaper is not always better. More often than not, it's quite the opposite.

Harley Suzuki????? :lol-045: I wonder if he knows that's blasphemy!! ,,,,,,,Tell me bill have brain washed yourself into believing Bologna is as good and no different than Rib Eye????? save the review, I don't think I could take that serious now either!!     :wiseman:    your kill'n me dude! :lol-045:

No harley would come close to my Suzuki 1200 bandit in quality or speed for just 6k.

My son's buddy was a service manager at a Harley dealer and the horror stories are

unbelievable. It's not fully American made. The forks are from Japan. The new engines are designed by porche. Too bad all that money.

If I was to buy a Harley I'd buy an old one and restore it.

I was receding to the wind going by our heads between the '72 $200 Suzuki and the 2013 $25k Harley. It's the same feeling.

I been thinking about a new $35k Indian or a Suzuki Hayabusa(215 MPH) I love speed.

LOL

This thread reminds of threads posted  on some long range rifle shooting forums.

You have one person post about a brand new scope he just bought for $89 and then defends it by saying it will do the same thing as your high end optic

you paid $2000.00 for.

Do you think I could use this reel as part of a dedicated Banjo Minnow set-up? Uninformed opinions only please.

Admit it, you guys are all jealous and upset because he could have just bought a reel for $30 that rivals your $190 reel and you don't like that.

Quit telling him it is junk if you have never seen one in person. God, that is freaking stupid to put somebody down when you don't even know what you are talking about.

Are you high? There isn't a planet one where that POS would compare to a Chronarch or the like.

I'd never spend $200 for a fishing reel.

What's the difference In the wind going by us on a $200 1972 Suzuki TS 185 dual sport vs. a new 2013 $25k Harley? Nothing but bragging rights that someone spent $25k. The difference is someone is $24,800 richer. Plus the Suzuki is more dependable. So where does the higher cost really factor in? I was all alone at over 100 mph except for the other rockets on my 1200 bandit. It cost me 6k at the time so does its low cost mean it's junk? I rode this bike for 25,000 miles the first year I had it and never had a problem. I sold it three years later because of health problems I got ill.

They do offer this reel in left and right hand cranks. I ordered both the second one is due here soon.

To each his own.

A better comparison would have been a Harley to a Cracker Jack bike. Suzuki is a quality product not a POS

Funny....I could say the very same here. I don't think anyone was putting him down for buying the product. People stated their opinions plain and simple. If you post that your 30 dollar reel will rival that of any 200 plus etc reel, expect for people to come back and state their opinions. If it offends you, Christ man, this is the Internet and put some big girl panties on.
