Super User bigbill Posted August 14, 2013 Super User Posted August 14, 2013 My new Chinese baitcasting reel arrived today and it looks awesome. I hope to spool it up and throw a casting plug on it and test it. I'm impressed in the workmanship and the quality so far I'm hooked. The brand on the box is Dyna-Nicer model DM120RA it has 11 ball bearings. And a 6:3 ratio. Low profile Fully adjustable magnetic cast control Magnetic brake control Titanium coated line guide Proted aluminum forged spool New gear structure precision machined gears One way bearing for the power lock system(drag) Quick access removable side late unlimited anti reverse Soft touch thumb bar It says this on the box. Now to test it. The fit and finish looks great. It did arrive three weeks early. I'll post more as I get into it, I should of purchased two, one for complete disassembly for inspection of every part.
Super User bigbill Posted August 14, 2013 Author Super User Posted August 14, 2013 I just ordered another one, plus three spinning reels too. I'll see if I can get my pics working. With shipping it was $30. There marked now at $29.00 + $5 ship. I see the lures from China aren't 5 fer & 4 fer $4 or $5 anymore with some of them are $4 each.
Super User Sam Posted August 14, 2013 Super User Posted August 14, 2013 How about getting a friend to video you using the reel so when it blows up we can all see it happen. 8

Super User Darren. Posted August 14, 2013 Super User Posted August 14, 2013 Pictures? x2!! Let's see it!
Super User Goose52 Posted August 14, 2013 Super User Posted August 14, 2013 Search Amazon for that model number - you'll see pics of the reel.
Super User bigbill Posted August 14, 2013 Author Super User Posted August 14, 2013 Most of our tackle is manufactured there anyhow. Like what's the problem. Let's face it when I lost my job on '83, '84 & '85 due to cheaper imports no one cared about me or it happening. I worked only 9 months in three years. I knew it would happen to more of us as time went on. I changed my trade three times to survive. I want the best quality product for the least spent money and I don't care were it's manufactured. I'm done fighting the tide with layoffs. I went thru he'll with them. I think everyone should get a taste of what I went thru. Don't give me that buy American made stuff. Thank God my hard work ethics rubbed off on my three kids. They all own there own homes and have successful jobs. They have good educations too. 3
Super User bigbill Posted August 14, 2013 Author Super User Posted August 14, 2013 I only posted about this affordable baitcaster if someone wanted to try using a baitcaster reel at a affordable cost incase they didn't like it they won't have invesTed too much money. If they do like baitcasting they could purchase a better reel down the road. I did not mean to flame anyone in the process, sorry if I did. 1
Super User bigbill Posted August 14, 2013 Author Super User Posted August 14, 2013 Search Amazon for that model number - you'll see pics of the reel. Goose52, At Amazon they have two different prices on it. One is $95 and the other is $29. I searched for it by the manufacturers name on Amazon and the Garcia baitcaster came up and it looks exactly the same reel. I'm thinking they manufacturer it for Garcia too possibly. We are teaching them how to manufacture by sending our work over there. Every rod I have says made in China. I like to see things kept affordable so the younger kids can afford to fish too. I purchased very little when I was a kid, I would use my lunch money for some fishing stuff.

I never thought of wishing my misfortune on anybody,,,,,,,, the new American way,,,,,,, 3
Super User bigbill Posted August 14, 2013 Author Super User Posted August 14, 2013 Never knock your fellow man you'll never know what he has been thru. I never wish anything on anybody but there is karma and were all paying the price for big corporate profits. The American car manufactures are getting it right now
Super User SirSnookalot Posted August 14, 2013 Super User Posted August 14, 2013 $1.40 wow, do they have a $2.00 rod to go with it? As far as I'm concerned, if it works I don't care where it's made. Saw an expose on CNBC last week about the fish industry for consumption and what China is exporting to the U.S. I don't recall how many species something like over a 100 and how many more American jobs have been created in the fish distribution industry. Many people seem to only focus on the manufacturing sector, but there is more to a global economy. 1
Super User *Hootie Posted August 14, 2013 Super User Posted August 14, 2013 How about getting a friend to video you using the reel so when it blows up we can all see it happen. Now, c'mon Sam, don't p#$$ on Big Bill's experiment. Wish him the best. Hootie
Super User Sam Posted August 14, 2013 Super User Posted August 14, 2013 BigBill, we are just having some fun. Not only do we want to see the reel but we want to know how it performs.
Super User bigbill Posted August 14, 2013 Author Super User Posted August 14, 2013 I think we can get on a ground level of these imports before they go sky high.
buzzfrog Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 is that how much you paid, or how much it cost to make, I don't see anything that price on amazon
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted August 14, 2013 Super User Posted August 14, 2013 Where the pics $2 reel ill get a few
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted August 14, 2013 Super User Posted August 14, 2013 is that how much you paid, or how much it cost to make, I don't see anything that price on amazon Probably how much he paid not including shipping If there was a $1.40 baitcaster on amazon they would always be sold out
loudcherokee Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Tagging for the review. This thing does look like the promax. interested to see how it pans out. LC
Super User lmbfisherman Posted August 14, 2013 Super User Posted August 14, 2013 What would make me wary of buying a BC at this price and where it was "coming from" would be longevity and quality. It sounds like it would be like a "disposable" reel after a few outings not to mention the difficulty of replacing parts. But hey, I'd be curious to see your review on it still.
Super User bigbill Posted August 14, 2013 Author Super User Posted August 14, 2013 I bid the $1.40 they asked and paid the $29 ship. They reversed it now it's $29 + $5 to ship. I ordered another one last night. I want to use baitcasters for my spinnerbaits Go to Amazon.com and search for DM120RA this gray and red reel will come up under another brand. But it's a twin to the Garcia reel that comes up too? The only problem so far is the book that comes with the reel is all in Chinese. It comes with a reel cover/bag too. It's not listed on eBay by the manufactures name or model number if you search for baitcaster reel it will be there it starts off with 11BB.
buzzfrog Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 ok I see a 30 buck one, musta jacked price up then. so tech is a 30 some buck reel
