I was considering getting the troll perfect system for my trolling motor to make it more managable at full speed, and was wondering if it actually worked, or if it is just like those cheap TV ad products and suck?

Yes it does work.  I have had one on my TE 82 for a couple of years.  Just takes a minor adjustment to keep the torque out at high speed.  It makes for a lot easier handling when it gets really windy and I have to run on high.

Waiting to hear back from them.  I have the original Evinrude trolling motor still on my boat and it is great.  With the way it's designed, I wanted to be sure the troll perfect would work on it.  The Evinrud does not have a straight arm.  It has an offset to it.
