J33wolf Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Which would you choose out of these two? No specific technique going to be fished, just an all around reel: 1. Lew’s Tournament Pro Speed Spool (TP1H) Or 2. Shimano Curado (200e7) Thanks for your input. JW Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 12, 2013 Super User Posted August 12, 2013 Shimano has been a proven winner. Lews is a very popular up and comer. 1 Quote
Super User Sam Posted August 12, 2013 Super User Posted August 12, 2013 Can't go wrong with either one. X2 although I lean towards Shimano, as Roadwarrior said. Quote
Grantman83 Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Had both and preferred the tourney pro though they were both excellent. Quote
loodkop Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Never seen a Lews in a local store and have been well served by Shimano for many years. At least it makes my choice easy. Quote
WiregrassRiverRat Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 I am saying lews.. unless you go up to the Chronarch Quote
thehooligan Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 I should add i had both and would go with the curado as well.... Quote
sarcazmo Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 I am saying lews.. unless you go up to the Chronarch E series curado = chronarch. Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted August 12, 2013 Super User Posted August 12, 2013 Curado / Chronarch every time. Quote
Brian Needham Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 I love my lews TP, I have also thrown the shimanos while someone else was in the boat..... I don't think I would change, but I am very set in my ways. Shimano has been around a long time, so has the Lews brand via different ownership. The lews are lighter. you cant go wrong either way, no matter what the posse tells you. personally, I cant wait until the Lews vs Shimano threads get the "senko treatment" hahahhaha Quote

Brian Needham Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 My point was there are fanboys or a posse for any brand you want to name. So you really can't go wrong........ my senko reference was aimed towards the vs threads are kinda pointless, much like he senko threads. buy all you can afford and I bet it will be good enough gear to serve you well..... lews, shimano, or any other brand..... well except for ugly stick ha ha. Capt.Bob Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Both solid reels, I chose the Lew's after trying both and using Shimano's for over 20 years, either one I feel is better than the other choices. Quote
