Super User Catt Posted July 1, 2010 Super User Posted July 1, 2010 Aint this the way everyone evaluates new lures? I take new lures and place it against one of my go-to lures, if it can't produce at least 60% it's out of here. I do one lure at a time of the same type, like spinner baits, you can't fairly evaluate more than 1 or 2 new lures at a time. I give the new lure no less than 1 month but ideally 3 months giving it an entire seasonal pattern to work. This scenario will be fun by sheer competition of lure vs lure & friend vs friend Quote
bassbum85 Posted July 29, 2010 Author Posted July 29, 2010 Goin out this afternoon to do the first battle we will let you know how it goes Quote
bassman31783 Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Even though I agree with the fact that there are too many variables to really come to the conclusion that one lure is better then the other, I still really like the idea and will be following closely. Have fun. Quote

flippin and pitchin Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 Your retailer thanks you. Joe Thomas already did a fishing show on this called Ultimate Craw Fishing. Quote
topwaterbob Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 I did sort of a similiar test with toads. My favorite is the Horny Toad. I would have a Horny Toad and another brand hooked up. The color was as close to watermelon red as I could get. I have tried over 20 different brands of toads. I alternate casts with each bait. The Horny Toad always out produced any other brand. Just as some have said it proves nothing. In over three years of doing this the H.T is always the winner. Quote
bassbum85 Posted July 30, 2010 Author Posted July 30, 2010 Well in the first battle last night we fished for 2 hours and caught 21 fish. The Berkley Chigger craw beat the Net Bait Baby Paca Craw barely. The final was 10 to 11 Quote
ChiCityBasser Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 My vote is for the Rage Craw and sounds like a fun test. Quote

Blue Streak Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 You put two excellent baits head to head, interesting results and great fishing. Quote
Jeff C. Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 I see the chigger won round #1.. how about some details.. was it close?? did the chigger kick its butt bad ?? 6 fish to 1 ??? Quote
MMan16 Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Nice. Chigger craw is my 2nd favorite. 1 is the rage craw. You guys must be having a blast with this. I know I would be. Quote
bassbum85 Posted July 31, 2010 Author Posted July 31, 2010 Yeah its a lot of fun so far the chiiger craw won 11 to 10 so it just barely won. Also it was a pretty normal day of fishing I just didn't realize how many we actually caught until I tallied it up. This is all being done by wading creeks as well. Quote
