gripnrip Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 What do you guy think? Is it even possible? Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted August 10, 2013 Super User Posted August 10, 2013 It's definitely possible but I don't think it's going to happen. If this tournament ended today, EE would have to finish 30 places or so behind KVD and/or A-Mart in the next one to lose it. St. Clair really suits all 3 guys pretty well though. I don't expect any of them to struggle. KVD cut his teeth fishing for smallies in Michigan, EE won a smallie event on Erie a few years ago and Aaron is thought to be one the best drop shot fishermen in the world. Plus, all 3 are very good with their electronics. It wouldn't surprise me at all if all 3 guys finish in the top 12 in the next tourney, which would ultimately seal the deal for Edwin. I'm really pulling for EE to win AOY but I like all 3 guys . Quote
Super User Sam Posted August 10, 2013 Super User Posted August 10, 2013 Yes. Never count KVD out. 1 Quote
Super User slonezp Posted August 10, 2013 Super User Posted August 10, 2013 The real question should be "Will Aaron Martens EVER beat KVD?" 5 Quote

Super User MCS Posted August 10, 2013 Super User Posted August 10, 2013 Yes. Never count KVD out. X2 Quote
gripnrip Posted August 10, 2013 Author Posted August 10, 2013 The real question should be "Will Aaron Martens EVER beat KVD?" Lol I don't care who wins. KVD is a top notch guy. He was very gracious in 2006 to my son and I. He posed for a picture and engaged in some small talk after we patiently waited for him to get off the phone. Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted August 11, 2013 Super User Posted August 11, 2013 After today, A-Mart is the only guy in the finals tomorrow, KVD fell back to 14th and only made up 11 points on EE. Martens is firmly in 2nd place but it's Edwin's to lose. If he does well in the next event, no one can catch him. The question is, can Aaron Martens catch Edwin Evers? Or, Will Edwin Evers slip? Super User slonezp Posted August 11, 2013 Super User Posted August 11, 2013 . Martens is firmly in 2nd place I laughed when I read that. Quote
gripnrip Posted August 11, 2013 Author Posted August 11, 2013 (edited) I hope he stays a bridesmaid. It fits his personality. I just found this on bassmaster.com http://www.bassmaster.com/news/evers-running-out-aoy-clock Edited August 11, 2013 by gripnrip Quote
Quillback Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 KVD has a lot of experience on St. Clair, He's got a remote chance at AOY, Don't count Martens out either. Quote
james 14 Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Interested how things have turned out now a couple weeks later! I think A-Mart may finally get his day. I hope he wins the tourney too...I've got him on my fantasy list! And to think I almost picked EE instead of him. Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted August 24, 2013 Super User Posted August 24, 2013 KVD is the man, and no one will ever take that away from him. EE and AM are also great fisherman, and have been battling to be on top for years. I would be happy for either AM or EE if either of them win. They have paid their dues. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted August 24, 2013 Super User Posted August 24, 2013 CONGRATULATIONS TO Aaron Martins ~ ! 2013 Bassmaster Angler of the Year. A-Jay 2 Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted August 24, 2013 Super User Posted August 24, 2013 Great for him!! He is finally first place!! Quote
moguy1973 Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Good thing he clinched yesterday because Martens couldn't weigh in today. Broke his jackplate and was stranded out in the middle of Erie somewhere. Quote
james 14 Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Good thing he clinched yesterday because Martens couldn't weigh in today. Broke his jackplate and was stranded out in the middle of Erie somewhere. Yeah sucks cause he was on my fantasy list, however, I'm really glad for Chris Lane. Maybe one of the last guys I would've picked to win this event but he's in the Classic now...on his home lake. Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted August 26, 2013 Super User Posted August 26, 2013 Yeah, it was a tough break for Martens today. According to him and his cameraman, he had enough weight to win the tournament. I guess winning AOY yesterday softened the blow some though. If this had happened yesterday, EE would have won AOY. Either way, I'm happy for Chris Lane, he needed a high finish to make the Classic and he went out and got it done. Quote
Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted September 8, 2013 Super User Posted September 8, 2013 that's awesome good for him!!! Quote
