Often times people dismiss short strikes as pan fish. Sometimes bass just strike short. I had a day this year where I was throwing a 6in BBZ-1 Jr and I was getting short strikes about half the time. I know they were bass because I saw it happen half a dozen times or so right at the boat. I have also had this happen fishing a texas rigged worm. Added a stinger hook and caught fish. I think it was in the BBZ book where Bill told a story about having the tails ripped off his worms. The worms had a chartreuse tail. He rigged the worm backwards and caught fish. They were keyed in on the Chartreuse tail. Sometimes minor adjustments and a little creativity are the answer. Its not always pan fish on the other end.

swimmin senkos are very delicate i agree. they could make the plastic more dense right where the joint is, but that might hinder the action. I set the hook like i'm fishing a plastic worm when i'm throwin swimmin senkos, give em a sec, give em some line so they don't feel you then set it hard on taut line.
