prjavelin Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 My wife is going to kill me when she sees another package getting here this week. Two weeks ago I received a new rod and line. A week before that I got a new reel from a member here, a sweet lews that I enjoy so much. So this week this evil animal makes me purchase even more plastics(I already have a TON), Simms sun Gloves(the excuse I used to convice myself and tell her that I needed to make an order) and a duo realis to try that spybaiting thing Im my mildly pressured clear reservoir. I bought a couple worms: A robo zipper grubA robo zipper shaking 5" A ROBOWORM ALIVE SHAD FOR SPLITSHOTTING!!! A newly released berkley powerbait rib snake and a power team lures finicky tickler. so more finesse kinda worms of which I already have a TON of them. Have you guys fished those baits??? What things have this evil animal made you buy lately?? Quote
The Young Gun Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 If only I could beat that monkey with all the crap things it makes me buy.. Quote
Cgrinder Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 I have a Smoke sitting on a Cumara that my girlfriend doesn't know about yet. Quote
Super User bigbill Posted August 8, 2013 Super User Posted August 8, 2013 Don't feel bad your not alone wait till my charge bill gets here. I went hog wild on everything this month. The deals just seem to keep on comming. If it's on clearance or on sale count me in. We don't really have the buying power all the time. What cost me $1.50 today will cost me $7 down the road if not more. I found two inshore 7' fishing rods two for $8 each, still brand new. Deals like this don't come by that often. Quote

Super User .ghoti. Posted August 8, 2013 Super User Posted August 8, 2013 You don't have to be afraid of the wife. You just have to speak her language. Don't ever tell her what you spent. Tell her what you just saved. 2 Quote
Super User DogBone_384 Posted August 8, 2013 Super User Posted August 8, 2013 Lemme ask one question: who pays the mortgage? Quote

Super User Raul Posted August 10, 2013 Super User Posted August 10, 2013 The root of your problem is that you don´t have enough fishing junk, we professional old time tackle addicts by the time we marry we have enough stuff to make any new additions pass unnoticed, 8-10 packs of soft baits more won´t make much difference when added to a several hundred packs pile of soft bats, 10-20 cranks won´t add much volumen to a bunch of tackleboxes stuffed with cranks. The situation here is, if you don´t want her to know don´t do stoopid things like leaving packaging material where it can be seen is going to raise every single red flag and tha is going top mean serious trubble, unpack things before and leave the trash in the next county, don´t have stuff shipped your address, that´s one of the most stoopid things to do, use another address like a PO box or a suite, out of sight means out of mind; Use a stealthy approach when trying to add stuff to your stuff, for example, I know my wife falls asleep between 10:30 and 11:00 PM, so by midnight I´m shure she´s stone cold dead asleep ( she even snores ), well, that´s the time I add stuff to my already existing big pile of stuff. I´m a person of habits, one habit I have is that I regularily arrange, order, clean, rebox, relable n´ things like that my stuff, well I place orders before that and carefully bring the new stuff home, use the stealth approach and then mingle the new stuff with the old stuff. So, in other words, the soultion to your problema is -----> YOU NEED MORE STUFF ! 1 Quote
I.rar Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 X2 on having it shipped to work. That's what I do when I need something to come in under the radar! Those alive shad are awesome. I went through a pack in about an hour. I was t rigging them with a 1/16 weight though. Quote
SudburyBasser Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 This is why I'm happy I never got married. The idea that I'd have to explain or hide a purchase is ridiculous. 1 Quote

Pensfan79 Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 My experience has been that when the wife doesnt question a large fishing purchase, the real troubles coming next credit card bill. Last fishing trip produced great results with a soft plastics color switch. This has sent the bait monkey howling. Quote
