Traveler2586 Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 Just saw this on WTOP.COM News http://www.wtop.com/120/3414879/Va-Frankenfish-confirmed-as-world-record Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted August 8, 2013 Super User Posted August 8, 2013 That is pretty crazy that a fish that hasn't been established in the waters to long is already setting a world record. I would guess there are even bigger ones out there too. Quote

Hanover_Yakker Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 And to think there are bigger ones than that yet to be caught. I have seen one up close and personal. Scared the crap out of me when I saw it rush my lure in 3' clear water in Pohick Bay last summer. Quote
CMG Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 No doubt there are bigger ones. Bigger ones have been shot with bows. I got myself a bow recently so if I happen to end up right on top of them I can take them out that way. No way they'll bite the frog when that close. I just caught my first last weekend. Only 22", still have a complete filet in my freezer. Quote
Brian Needham Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 yeah, but was he using a Mustad hook?????? Quote
Greeneye8181 Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 I saw one in the Potomac earlier this season that dwarfed a 8-pounder I caught yesterday. It surfaced about 5 feet from the boat, seemed to look at me, then slowly and quietly submerged. My jaw almost hit the water. I don't even want to know how big it was. Quote
